Pastor’s Notes

I hope and pray that you are

getting something from the
Easter Sermon Series entitled “Worthy”. The
first week I dealt with “Worthy to be Chosen”.
This past week I dealt with “Worthy to be
Worshipped”. I hope and trust that you know
that He is worthy to be worshipped and that you
worship Him daily. Daily….. That’s right, daily. Some people think of worship as a
Sunday or Wednesday activity. Really? If that is the only time you worship, you are
missing such a blessing. Worship is something that we do as we pray. It is something we
do as we sing…as we simply think about God and His goodness. Worship is an
expression of our knowledge of the worth of God. It is an expression about the fact we
know who He is and what the Word says about Him. Some people say that only “God” is
to be worshipped. They are correct. And yet told the disciples that “He and the Father
are one”. Paul told the Philippians that Jesus “thought it not robbery to be equal with
God”. Jesus is God, therefore He is worthy to be worshipped. This Easter Season, I hope
and trust that you will stop and remember that Jesus Christ was the Worthy Sacrifice for
Sins and that because of that, HE IS WORTHY TO BE WORSHIPPED.

Please don’t forget that worship is both public and private. I worship Him in my truck, in
my home, in my “closet”, but I also worship Him in the sanctuary! I don’t worship God
to be seen, yet I think it’s important that my worship is seen! Let me say that again…… I
don’t worship God as a put on, only doing it for people to see. I do it in public because
God is worthy and at the same time, know that the expression of my worship is needed
for others to know the worth I put on HIM! I want my children to see me worship….. I
want my members to see me worship….. I want guests and visitors to see me worship….I
want our youth and children see me worship…..I WANT GOD TO SEE ME
WORSHIP!!!!! People tend to participate in what they see modeled in front of them.
And although my worship is not for you, I hope that you benefit from it. Have you ever
thought who might benefit from your praise and worship?

Let me just share with you a little bit of a message I received through my Facebook page.

“This AM, I was the one God was talking too in your message and through tongues. I
said God you speak one more time, that is it, I am giving you my all. Well he did and I
was jumping the pew to get out. Tonight I saw something in my head as I had my eyes
closed as I was looking in my minds eye towards the church’s baptism pool. I saw a
waterfall coming out of the ceiling and on the floor spilling over in to the isle and into
the pews and above it was the saying "Living Water" I was the only one in the church
and no one was there and heard a voice say just jump in… jump in an be free and
cleansed. It was not only towards me but the voice was saying whoever, whoever you
are jump in and be free and cleansed. T.H.A.T. church has the living water flowing
Curtis. Praise be to God, it does…….”

Please know that people are coming into our church and being definitely moved and
changed by the power of God. Your friendliness, your outward expression of worship,
your ministry in the altar are all important parts of what will make our church to continue
to grow and impact peoples lives. I truly believe that the LIVING WATER is flowing at
T.H.A.T. Church!!!!!!!! I’m so blessed to be part of it and am so thankful that you are
too!

If you are not a member of our church and would like to be, would you prayerfully
consider doing so? Easter Sunday morning at 9:30, I will be meeting with anyone who
would like to join with us. We meet in the Christian Life Center, across the street form
the main church complex. Come to the door marked “STAFF”, enter the door and come
to the room directly in front of you. We will meet there and go over what the Church of
God believes and what the Mission and Vision of Woodruff Church of God is. WE
WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO JOIN WITH US!!!!!!!

a most beautiful sight of the sun rising.
