Concerns:

In the past year Port Morris clients were not as eager on needing financing as in the
past. The top three needs were energy costs reduction, tax credits, and government
incentives. In all what that tell us is that the businesses were looking to save money
and implement belt tightening measures. The Con Edison/ NYSERDA energy audits
and Empire Zones Program were the most popular incentive based measures
because they were the “lowest hanging fruit”, meaning that the measures were easy
to implement and free. Government contracting has also raised interest this past
year, noted by the uptick in Port Morris Industrial clients attending SoBRO’s monthly
procurement seminars.

According to the Port Morris Industrial clients the needs are as follows:
1. Less ticketing by NYPD Traffic for their (IBZ biz) fleet of vehicles
2. Reduced costs (energy, healthcare, etc.)
3. Tax credits/tax exemptions
4. Better marketing resources to assist businesses promote their respective
products and/or services.
