In this study, EBF was considered when the chlid received only breast
milk not even water till the age of six months and from eight socio demografi
characteristics such as religion, literacy, age, women ocuppation, monthtly
income, family type. Number of ANC and gender. Thus, it was found that the
majority of both primiparous and multiparous mother had breastfed their babies
and EBF was more in primiparous mother (68%) comparated to multiparous
mother (53%). Most of the reasons for the delay in initation of breastfeeding
between primiparous and multiparous mother were that the infans were sick and
had given their infants parectal feedings
From this study, it was concluded that the prevalance rate of exclusive
breast feeding is still need to improve in both primiparous and multiparous
mother. Henceforth, intense IEC about benefits of BEF and more awareness
programmes like health educationon exclusive breastfeeding and some direct
intervention like behavior change communication among the target group is
absolutely necessary to improve the EBF rate in the study area.
