FRIGATES
The Shivalik class frigates or Project 17 class frigates are

multi-role frigates with stealth features being built for
the Indian Navy. They are the first warships being built
in India with such features.[9] The lead vessel of the class was

OFFSHORE PATROL VESSELS

navy's fleet that are large and seaworthy enough to patrol off-shore in the
open ocean.

INS Sagardhwani
The INS Sagardhwani (A 74) commissioned on 30 July 1994 is a research vessel with
the Indian Navy.
The Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory uses this vessel to conduct research in
various fields ranging from acoustic, geological, meteorological, chemical and physical
oceanography in the eight labs of the ship. This ship is used to test the Advanced
Torpedoes developed.
