F2000 International Championship History
The F2000 International Championship was first launched in 2000 under the name ‘Emirates
Formula 2-4 Boat Racing’. The championship activities were held in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Thereafter the promoter Mr. Abdul Salam Fairooz decided to rename the championship as above
stated to enjoy direct auspices of the UAE president. The championship history may be
summarized as follows:
* 2000 : Ten boats took part in the championship with a total of 3 rounds held in Abu Dhabi -
Sharjah - Abu Dhabi. The officials of the commerce & tourism development department of Sharjah
as headed by the director HH Sheikh Tariq Bin Faisal Al Qassimi have played effective role in
organizing the Sharjah round to outstanding standards. The final round enjoyed auspices of HH the
Crown Prince personally.
* 2001 : More than 16 boats took part in this event with a total of 4 rounds held in the following
order: Abu Dhabi - Sharjah – RAK - Abu Dhabi. The Sharjah participation urged other emirates of
the union such as RAK to take part. The RAK Water Skiing Club as chaired by HH Sheikh Waleed
Bin Khalid Al Qassimi played vital role in organizing and supervising 2001 championship that
enjoyed generous auspices of HH the crown prince and was witnessed by a large number of
audience beyond any expectation.
* 2002 : 18 boats took part in this event with a total of 4 rounds held in the following order: Abu
Dhabi – Qatar – Ajman - Abu Dhabi. This time the championship went international with Qatar
acting as host to the second round. It is noteworthy that the Qatar Marine Sports Federation as
headed by HE Sheikh Hasan Bin Jaber Al Thani has been playing effective role in promoting sea
sports in the gulf region. The hosting of Qatar for the championship attracted renowned
competitors in F2000 class, adding to the glamour and excitement of the competition. Further
support and encouragement was brought around with Ajman playing a hosting and organizing role
under direct supervision and follow up of HH Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Hamad Al Nauimi and
generous auspices of HH Ruler of Ajman. The crown prince of Ajman personally decorated the
winners, a gesture that represents the extent of support for this sport.
* 2003 : 20 boats from various countries took part in this yeare’s event with a total of 5 rounds held
in the following order: Fujairah – RAK – Oman - Qatar – Abu Dhabi. Qatar declaring the allocation
of US$ 100,000 award has acquired much international fame to the championship. This
championship was considered to be the most successful in terms of organization and hosting
standards. The Fujairah Dibba round was effectively organized by Fujairah International Sea Sports
Club under immediate directives of HH Ruler of Fujairah. The effective role played by HH Sheikh
Ahmed Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, director of RAK Customs and Ports department has been vital to the
hosting role of RAK. The RAK round has been marked with positive competition to the Fujairah
round with sponsoring companies taking the lead. Then the championship moved to Muscat where
the Omani Olympic Committee has managed, through negotiation with Muscat Municipality
officials, to get the championship events merged within the main events of Muscat Festival. The
Oman round was the toughest yet most successful and was devoted much attention by Muscat

The origin of the city's name poses an interesting dilemma for etymologists. Juddah (pronounced Jiddah) in Arabic means seashore,
which seems logical enough, but the school of thought which prefers Jaddah or grandmother, is given credibility by the traditional
location of Eve's tomb within the city. Jeddah is, in fact, incorrect, but is popularly used by most non-Saudis living there.
Jeddah has some great museums, including the Municipality Museum. Located in a 200-year-old restored traditional house built
from Red Sea coral, the museum has interesting photos of the development of Jeddah, along with rooms done up in traditional style.
The Museum of Abdel Raouf Hasan Khalil houses 10,000 items jam-packed into 4 mock-Arab Disney-style buildings. The museum is
a spectacularly badly organized clutter of tasteless exhibits, but there are a few real gems among the debris. The Jeddah Museum,
the regional museum of archaeology and ethnography, covers the same turf as the Riyadh Museum.
Jeddah has one of the best souks (markets) in the kingdom, the spectacular Souk Al-Alawi, which winds its way through the old city.
Although some sections of it have been paved over, and others fitted with bizarre green and white columns, it's still a great place to
spend hours strolling and browsing. Jeddah's 3 reconstructed old city gates are also worth a look, as are the several good examples
of traditional Jeddah architecture found around the North City Gate.
Jeddah (also spelled Jiddah, Jidda, or Jedda; Arabic: Jiddah) is a Saudi
Arabian city located on the coast of the Red Sea and is the major urban
center of western Saudi Arabia. It is the largest city in Makkah Province,
H.H. Prince Abdullah and Abdul Salam - Contract Signing H.H. Prince Abdullah and Abdul Salam - Award of Appreciation and the second largest city in Saudi Arabia after the capital city, Riyadh. The
population of the city currently stands at over 3.4 million. It is considered
the commercial capital of Saudi Arabia and the wealthiest city in the Middle
East and western Asia.
Jeddah is the principal gateway to Mecca, Islam's holiest city, which
able-bodied Muslims are required to visit at least once in a lifetime.
Residents of Jeddah are called Jeddans. Jeddah has 24 sister cities, which
are selected based on economic, cultural and political criteria.

Port Ghalib is being created under the guidance of a single vision and master plan of the M.A. Kharafi Group.
Some of the World’s finest planners (such as Francois Spoerry, EDAW and Sogreah) have been involved in the
master, urban, and marina planning. The internationally renowned consultants KPMG has been involved in the
marketing and feasibility studies. The world leading architects WAT&G International conceptualised and
designed the unique architecture to be in harmony with the environment drawing their inspiration from
traditional and historic designs. Environmental plans were conducted with Enviro-Pro, SWRC, and ECO Conserve.
Port Ghalib will be an outstanding resort community because of the accurate planning, design excellence,
market research and positioning. Port Ghalib includes around 9 different themed villages visually and
physically linked, thus creating a strong cohesive development. The location of these villages capitalises on the
site’s natural assets (exquisite views of the Red Sea, pocket beaches, un-spoilt desert terrain, as well as
naturally occurring differences in elevation levels throughout Port Ghalib.

Rescue Team
The whole Blue Circus owes the Team very much. Every single diver will, soon
or later, be pulled out of a sunken canopy or (if he has been so swift, and lucky
as to come out of the capsule by himself) dragged out of the water by their
strong and skillful hands. The team will provide them with first aid. Sometimes
it is just psychological help, when the driver is unharmed. At other times they
take some focused and decisive course of 'action, when the accident is more
serious. An action that’s timing has to be within a few endless, vital seconds.
The quicker the team rid the racing course of damaged launches and the
related scraps the sooner the race can start again. The new start will of course
follow the regular break. We have seen the rescue "boys" in action dozens of
times. They never hesitated. Their actions had always been long-studied and
practiced. Synchronized like the gears of a mechanism, which must not have
any hitch, any blunder. The toll would be a human life. We have even seen
them put out a burning launch and rescue the driver before he himself could
realize what was going on.
They are substantially volunteers: They very keenly get to venue, their
names? No, it would be unfair: they are a team, they are interchangeable. And,
they have adopted the motto: "All for one”
