The reconstructed station will extend from Lawrence Avenue to south of Leland Avenue, with platforms crossing
Leland on the railroad bridge. All existing landscaping here will be removed.

New Station
If Ravenswood Avenue is left as-is, there will be no green space at all. The retaining wall for the station structure
would be located directly behind the existing curb line. Ravenswood is already one-way southbound in this area.
By narrowing the street while maintaining its existing one-way southbound direction, about fifteen feet of land
will be reclaimed for green space, landscaping and sidewalks to access the station. The current angle parking
is lightly-used and will be converted to parallel parking, allowing for a “kiss and ride” area near the southern
entrance to the station. This drop-off site will also improve traffic flow on Ravenswood. Stormwater
Management Area
Additional landscaping is proposed for the west side of Ravenswood as well to improve the overall landscape New Landscape Plantings

appearance around the new station, since the current west side street frontage between Lawrence and Leland
is completely devoid of any greenery.
