After the mail got collected from the post-box it gets transferred to a central post-sorting facility.
In there the international mail gets separated from national mail. We will focus on national mail in
this case.
National mail gets sorted by states and then send to the main post office in that state.
Now the postal-code comes into play. Letters within a postcode area get delivers to the local post
office from where the mail-man delivers the mail according to the street names and house numbers.
In the house the person who opens the mailbox then gives the letter to the person it belongs to by
looking at the name.

2.
We start after the mail was delivered to the outgoing mail-server.
The server takes the receivers address and breaks it into two parts: the recipient name (in front of
the '@') and the domain name (after the '@'). If the receivers address had been another user at the
same domain, the server would simply hand the message to the incoming server on its domain
(using a delivery agent).
If the recipient is at another domain, the server needs to resolve the IP from that domain using DNS
and forward the mail to the out outgoing mail server at that domain.
Now the mail gets handed to the incoming server where it waits for the user to collect the stored
message.
The user connect to the server (authenticating with his e-mail address as username) with a mail
client and can download the message that belongs to him from the server.

3.
The procedures are connection less because there is no connection established between the original
sender and receiver before, while or after the transport accrues.

The original packet would look like this:
DATA TCP-Header IP-Header Network1-Header Network2-Header
1500 160 160 24 24

Total size: 1868

Max. packed size of the destination network : 800
the packed needs to be split:

DATA TCP-Header IP-Header Network1-Header Network2-Header

432 160 160 24 24
Total: 800
DATA TCP-Header IP-Header Network1-Header Network2-Header

DATA TCP-Header IP-Header Network1-Header Network2-Header
204 160 160 24 24
Total: 572

Total size of all packages received : 2972

speed of sound: 330m/s
speed of light in cable: 230,000,000m/s
sound delay 10m = 1/33s
The sound delay if they where playing together at a distance of 10 meters would be approximately
1/33 second
distance signal can travel in 1/33s with speed of light = 230,000,000 / 33
Conclusion : The same delay would be present at a distance of 6,969,696m over cable.
Max possible distance : 6,9696km
