Each house has many attributes, yet underneath there is a deeper concept key to that house.
By connecting us to Earth, the houses also reveal the deeper potential behind all of our actions.
Vedic astrology has very specific house classifications based on the four stations of life. Those
four stations of life are:
These four lessons are repeated three times in an astrology chart through the realms of the
Individual (Houses 1-4), Relationship with Others (Houses 5-8) and our relationship with the
universe (houses 9-12).
These connections are both self-contained and build on each other. Meaning, our relationship
with our Self has a a lot to do with the relationship we have with others – which ultimately shows
how much attachment we have to the world, etc.
A simple, yet pretty effective technique when reading astrology charts is to see which section of
the chart has the most planets in it. That will usually show the most intense focus in the native's
life.
For example:
Most planets in houses 1-4 and they will mainly be interested in self knowledge.
Most planets in houses 5-8 and Others will dominate their thinking.
Most planets in houses 9-12 and universal themes will be most important.
