Recycling brings cycling bliss for Beth

Cheshire’s Junior Recycling Officer of the Year is
Beth Livesey from Woodfall Primary School, Little
Neston.
Beth was presented with a trophy and a new
bicycle.
One of the judges, Executive Member for Highways
and Transportation Eveleigh Moore-Dutton said:
“All the finalists gave excellent presentations
demonstrating the imaginative projects they had run
to raise awareness of recycling at their schools over
the past year.
“All the entries were of such a high quality and
each one was unique.
“In the end Beth was the clear winner and I hope
that she enjoys her new bicycle.”
The finalists, all Year Six pupils, prepared displays
showing the many creative projects they had run in
the last year in their role as Junior Recycling Officer.
This included: recycling collections for spectacles,
batteries, and paper; composting fruit and vegetable Beth receives her trophy from
waste and even using school – made compost for County Councillor Eveleigh

Head teacher hails GCSE success

What better way to celebrate 50
years of learning at Neston High
School than with record breaking
GCSE results above the national
average?
Head teacher Steven Dool said:
“I am delighted to congratulate our
students on achieving outstanding
and record-breaking results this year.
This has been aided by students
being encouraged to challenge
themselves to achieve aspirational
targets and going on to do so. Team
GB has done outstandingly well in the
Olympics and Team Neston (made
up of students, parents and teachers)
has done likewise locally!”
Most students will enrol in the 6th form at Neston High School where they will be able
to choose from a wide variety of courses and will be joined by other students from
across the area.
Top performers this year include: Melissa Sherlock (7A*3A), Martha Broughton
