NAVA Professional Membership


2011 Application Form and Guidelines
Applications for NAVA Professional Membership will be received
in rounds. Assessment can take between 2 to 4 weeks after
the application closing date. Both successful and unsuccessful
applicants will be notified of the outcome by email and in
hardcopy as soon as the application has been assessed.

Applications must reach the NAVA office, or be postmarked by


the above date to be considered for that round.Please read all the
guidelines and check the entire application before you submit the
form. Incomplete or incorrectly completed applications will not be
followed up or assessed.

This package is available to professional visual arts craft and design practitioners
and includes:
• A range of insurance covers including public liability insurance
• The International Association of Art (IAA) card
• Plus all current Individual Member benefits

consultancies, grants, awards, prizes, residencies, promotional activities & education.

Please attach your typed artist CV (One page maximum)

Please provide 5 still images representing completed work as a professional practitioner to the following digital specifications: 72 dpi
maximum, 1000 pixels wide, jpeg format saved to a CD in a Mac compatible format. Each image must be labelled in the following

Stage 5: Professional Obligations

Professional members of National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) are reminded of their obligation to adhere to:

1. 􀀀 relevant legislation relating to the Trade Practices Act


2. 􀀀 standards for workshop safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation
3. 􀀀 legal obligations relating to small business management eg. workers compensation; business, public
liability insurance and the moral and legal provisions of the Copyright Act

Professional Members of National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) are expected to:

1. 􀀀 conduct their business with integrity and honesty


2. 􀀀 meet all their professional obligations to high standard
3. 􀀀 adhere to contractual agreements in their arts business practice
