EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As a part of the subject managerial effectiveness in Mba 4th semester I


was required to interview a eminent personality who is having a vast
experience and to get some insights of their work and what are the
challenges that they face in their work and how do they overcome such
challenges.

For this purpose I visited Gandhinagar Sachivalaya office where I met


Mr. Sachin Patwardhan who is a section officer at industries and mines
department, Gandhinagar Sachivalaya.

He is working there since last 5 years and has background of


metallurgy in his engineering graduation and has done his post graduate
diploma in business management which helped him learn the
management perspective and implement it in his professional life.

It was great interacting with him and understanding the work that he
does as a part of his job responsibilities.

Ans: Supervising and monitoring of branch in department. Put up proposals


for consideration of Government related to my branch.

Ans: As my job concerns with Policy formation of Government, broad


point of view and public interest is to be taken care of.

6. Describe incidence/incidences which make you feel proud.

Ans: The policy which is formed here at our office has its implication
large scale on the public so the position becomes critical here.

7. How many people working under your guidance?

Ans: There are 4 people who are accountable to me and report me.

8. How do you manage them?

Ans: My work is like a bridge between upper management and my staff. I


inspire them to work hard and appreciate their work time to time. I am
eagerly helping them in their work when need arise.

9. Which strategies do you follow when conflict occurs among the


people?
Ans: With personal counselling and regular interaction with staff such
conditions are avoided at large.
