Abstract
Synthesis of nanocomposite based on graphene-iron oxide has been successfully carried out.
Synthesis of nanocomposites was carried out using the Hydrothermal method with
composition variations of 90:10, 80:20, and 70:30 in units (% v/v). Based on the results of the
characterization that has been done shows that the synthesized of nanocomposite graphene-
iron oxide has the potential as a functional material for battery electrodes. In FTIR
characterization the peak at 2806.43 cm-1 was correspondend to the C-H stretching vibrations.
For C = C stretching the peak at 1633.71 cm -1. Vibration of C = O stretching the peak at
1749.44 cm-1. The peak at 3138.18 cm-1 was identified as O-H vibrations and in the peak at
574.79 cm-1 was identified as Fe-O vibrations. The XRD characterization shows the
characteristic crystals of graphene with 2θ = 23,04ᴼ and indeks miller (001). While also
formed a crystal pattern on 2θ = 30,1018°; 35,4787°; 43,4243°; 56,9932° and 62,5536° with
indeks miller (220), (311), (400), (511) and (440) to Fe 3O4 and 2θ = 32,7439°; 40,3028°;
77,1320° with indeks miller (104), (113) and (036) to Fe2O3. With the Cyclic Voltammetry
(CV) method, the best graphene-iron oxide electrode are obtained at variation of 80:20 with
anodic peak currents 6,80 × 10-5A and catodic peak currents (Ipc) 7,75 × 10-5 A.
