There is
There is artinya “ada”. There is digunakan untuk menyatakan keberadaan benda tunggal (Singular
noun). Baik singular countable noun maupun singular uncountable noun menggunakan tipe ini. Singular
countable noun adalah benda tunggal yang dapat dihitung, contohynya: A cow, an apple, one boy, one
computer. an umbrella, a man. Selanjutnya singular noncountable noun adalah benda tunggal yang tak
dapat dihitung contohnya: milk, sand, water, ink, money, sugar, coffee, etc. Catatan, untuk money
walaupun bisa
dihitung akan tetapi dalam konteks Bahasa Inggris dianggap uncountable.

There are berarti “ada”. There are digunakan untuk menyatakan keberadaan (exsistence) dari suatu
benda jamak (plural nouns). Benda jamak dengan jumlah atau kuantitas lebih dari satu. Dalam kaidah
grammar Bahasa Inggris. Untuk menyatakan benda yang lebih dari satu biasanya ditambah imbuhan
s/es, namun demikian untuk benda tertentu tidak menggunakan tambahan s/es dan disebut irregular.
Untuk lebih jelasnya berikut penulis berikan contoh dalam kalimat:

Arah adalah petunjuk untuk menuju ke suatu tempat. Arah yang dimaksud di sini antara lain lurus (go
ahead), belok kanan ( turn right), belok kiri (turn right), pertigaan (T-junction), perempatan (crossroad),
di sebelah kanan (on the right side), di sebelah kiri (on the left side), di sudut/pojok (on the corner),
simpang lima (5-junction), berputar arah (turn around)

EXPRESSIONS OF ASKING DIRECTIONS:

 Could you tell me how to go to . . . ?
 Could you show me the way to . . . ?
 May i ask you the way to . . . ?
 Can you give me the direction to go to . . . ?

Nurse : Well, can you go straight a head here administration.
The cashier next to. Beside on the pharmacy.
Visitor : Excuse me, I need go to polyclinic. Can you show me the way?
Nurse : Well, you must walk to through emergency until room,
then turn left untul you see Laboratorium Area
Visitor : Nurse, I must go to Radiology Unit. Can you tell me where radiology unit is?
Nurse : that is at beside build. You must exit then turn right. In right this build, you find radiology unit.
