The junctions and the element ends are overcast with the
same insulation mix as used for the elements. In this way
an integral insulating enclosure to IP68.7 is guaranteed
over the full length of the busbar run. Straight junctions
and also elbow junctions are available each facilitating
installation adjustments of 10-20 mm per standard
junction.
• straight elements
• elbow elements, flat-flat and on edge
• Z (double elbow) and T elements
• flanged terminal elements
• tap-off facilities and phase-transfer elements
• thermal expansion compensation elements
• tailor-made terminal elements for transformer or generator
and switchboard connection
Applications :
Alu-conductors range up to 5250 Amps
Cu-conductors range up to 6500 Amps
Up to 1500 V DC
Applications up to 16,000 Amps
Type tests :
All technical data specified, such as current ratings and temperature
rise, insulation resistance, voltage and short circuit withstand, have
been certified in accordance with international standards ( IEC, VDE or
BS ) by the independent testing stations K.E.M.A. , LABORELEC ,
LCIE. Assembled elements with cast junctions were submitted for
type testing.
Factory tests :
Prior to shipment, all elements are subjected to the following tests:
Low Voltage systems : insulation resistance measurement and voltage
withstand
Medium Voltage system : voltage withstand, insulation resistance and
partial discharge measurement
Test reports :
Copies of official certificates and works reports are sent on request for
Low Voltage. All M.V. elements are supplied with a works test report.
2. Weights
The weights of the betobar-r for the LV-types are the average weight of a 3-phase + neutral type, including the
junction and the casting mix per system length of 2 m. For MV-types the supporting insulators and any possible
screening is included. If partitions for a full phase segregation are needed, they have to be added as extra weight.
3. System impedance
The busduct resistance values (A.C. resistance) Ra20 are based on a copper temperature of 20°C and a power
frequency of 50Hz in accordance with the I.E.C standard. Ra85 is the more realistic resistance at a copper operating
temperature of 85°C. The reactance values (X) of the LB-types are based on the standard phase sequence RST-
TSR for a 3-phase system.
For other configurations, frequencies or extreme temperatures, please consult Eta-com B or your betobar-r
agent.
4. Maximum voltage
PH1- and PH1.2-types are designed for a maximum voltage of 17.5 kV. In areas open to the public and if the type
has no screening, the voltage level is limited to 12 kV.
5. Short circuit
Icc values in the technical data
Ith = Symmetrical short circuit current (1 second effective value if no further indications)
Id = Asymmetrical (dynamic) short circuit current (peak value)
The betobar-r busbars type tested reports of the official and independent laboratories (mostly at KEMA and
Laborelec) defines the Icc rating.
For MH1 and MH2 : phase distance = 150 mm, support-shoulder distance 600 mm
For MH.D : phase distance = 300 mm, support-shoulder distance 800 mm
Phase distance and support-shoulder distance can be chosen for each project taking into account the production
possibilities. Consult Eta-com or your betobar-r agent on this matter.
