In the name of Allah, the Universally Merciful, the Singularly Compassionate
Praise be to Allah, Lord of all Realms. May divine blessings and celestial
peace be upon the chosen beloved, our liege-lord Muhammad, and
upon his pure family, noble companions, saintly inheritors, and
upon all who follow his example seeking His Countenance

On 18 Rajab 1430 / 12 July 2009, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, accompanied by
senior scholars and officials of the Saudi Arabian government, visited the Holy Prophets Mosque [masjidal-nabawi]
in Al-Madina Al-Munawwara, may Allah protect the city and her inhabitants and guests.
During the visit, King Abdullah raised his hands in humble entreaty facing the blessed sepulchre [rawdahal-mubarak]
wherein rests the Messenger of Allah and his two noble companions, Sayyidina Abu Bakr Abdullah al-Siddiq and
Sayyidina Abu Hafs Umar al-Faruq . The above picture shows this poignant moment.
In recent times, pilgrims who undertake pious visitation [ziyara] to the Holy Prophet have been prevented from
raising their hands in front of the Prophetic chamber. Those who did so were severely rebuked verbally. Some were
even reprimanded with whips made of cloth.
It is heart-warming and delightful to see King Abdullah himself set the record straight and re-establish the propriety in
relation to visiting the Messenger of Allah . We hope that the guards who control the crowds at the Prophetic
mausoleum realise the legitimacy of this act and allow the masses to practice it.
Success and guidance is from Allah. There is no power or might,
but Allah. Blessings and peace be upon the Paragon of creation, his
family, companions, and all who possess an atom of love for him in their
hearts. Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of Might, far beyond their descriptions
of Him. And peace be upon the Envoys. And praise be to Allah, Lord of all realms.
