Judul Jurnal : Factors of Medicinal Plants Users as Alternative Medical in Indonesia
A. Latar Belakang
1. Jurnal ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui perilaku masyarakat dalam penggunaan obat
tradisional berdasarkan presepsi penyakit, jenis keluhan, tempat tinggal, jarak ke fasilitas
kesehatan, dukungan keluarga, dan promosi obat tradisional
2. Tujuan lain untuk mengetahui faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi mereka dalam
menggunakan obat tradisional.
C. Metode
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional
dan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai alat bantunya.
D. Hasil penelitian
Hasil penelitian pada jurnal ini dijelaskan bahwa persepsi variabel penyakit terbagi
dalam empat kategori yaitu: buruk, sedang, sehat, dan sangat sehat. Bahwa dari 400
responden, sebagian besar memiliki persepsi sehat, yaitu 243 orang (60,8%). Sedangkan
jumlah responden yang tinggal di perdesaan lebih dari 60% responden pada penelitian ini
tinggal di pedesaan.
Variabel lainnya yaitu jenis pengaduannya dibagi menjadi dua kategori, yaitu kronis
dan akut, dapat dilihat bahwa jumlah responden yang menyatakan menderita penyakit akut
lebih besar dibandingkan yang menderita penyakit kronis. Hasil analisis jumlah responden
yang menyatakan bahwa mereka menderita penyakit akut lebih besar (55,5%) dibandingkan
dengan responden yang menderita penyakit kronis (2,5%) , pda variabel pendapatan yang
memiliki pendapatan> Rp 1.000.000 / bulan, adalah 331 orang (82,8 persen)sedangkan yang
memiliki pendapatan berpenghasilan ≤ Rp 1.000.000 / bulan ada 69 orang (17, 3 persen).
Pada Variabel asuransi dapat dilihat bahwa jumlah responden yang menjadi peserta
asuransi kesehatan lebih banyak, yaitu sebanyak 284 orang (71,0 persen) dibandingkan
dengan responden yang tidak menjadi peserta asuransi kesehatan, yaitu 116 orang (29,0
persen) dari 400 responden yang diteliti.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, diketahui bahwa jarak rata-rata ke fasilitas kesehatan
adalah 19,17 menit. Dalam penelitian ini, variabel jarak fasilitas kesehatan dilihat bahwa
jumlah responden yang tempat tinggalnya dekat dengan fasilitas kesehatan adalah 273
(68,3%) lebih banyak dari responden yang tempat tinggalnya jauh dari fasilitas kesehatan,
yaitu 127 orang (31,8% dari 400 responden yang disurvei.
Dalam pembahasan yang dijelaskan pada jurnal ini dapat dianalisis bahwa responden
yang menggunakan obat tradisional lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan mereka yang tidak
menggunakan obat tradisional.

Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi pemerintah agar dapat
mengkampanyekan pentingnya hidup sehat dan dapat dijadikan refensi dalam melihat faktor
penggunaan obat tradisional yang sering digunakan masyarakat.

A. Background
Health is an important aspect of life that can reflect the low level of living
standards possessed by an individual. Indonesia is richwisdoms in different localabout
medicinal plants, many of which have not been used for medicine. Given that many
plants have properties that have not been identified and developed clinically and modern.
Needed to explore, research, test and develop sustainable medicines.
There has been a tendency to increase the use of natural ingredients, especially
medicinal plants. Medicinal plants that have been processed as traditional medicines
since ancient times are now widely used, especially from the lower middle class. With the
advancement in technology, now many types of medicinal plants have been processed
and packaged in a modern way. It has developed into a healthy lifestyle naturally (Adams
et al, 2009).
This study discusses the factors that influence people to use medicinal plants as
alternative and traditional medicine. Because traditional medicines are the cultural
heritage of the Indonesian people that must be preserved and developed to support the
development of public health and improve the people's economy. This traditional
medicine is very often used for reasons that are easy, inexpensive and effective in
accordance with people's thinking about the preservation of plants and the environment.
Therefore, this study was conducted to look at the factors that influence human
behavior in the use of medicinal plants as alternative medicine in Ogan Ilir Regency,
South Sumatra Province in 2018.
B. Purpose of Journal Writing
As for several objectives during the process of making this journal:
1. This journal is intended to find out people's behavior in the use of medicines
traditional based on disease perception, type of complaint, place of residence,
distance to facilities health, family support, and promotion of traditional medicines
2. Another goal is to find out the dominant factors that influence them in using
traditional medicines
C. Method
This Study uses an analytical survey with cross sectional approach and uses a
quetionnaire as a tool assistance.
D. Research results
Results of this study explained that the perception of disease variables are divided
into four categories: poor, moderate, healthy, and very healthy. seen that from 400
respondents, most of them have healthy perception, that is 243 people (60.8%). While the
number of respondents who live in rural areas more than 60% of respondents in this study
live in rural areas.
Other variables, namely the type of complaint, are divided into two categories,
namely chronic and acute, it can be seen that the number of respondents who claim to suffer
from acute illness is greater than those suffering from chronic disease. The results of the
analysis of the number of respondents stating that they suffer from acute illness is greater
(55.5%) compared to respondents who suffer from chronic illness (2.5%) , the income
variable that has an income> Rp 1,000,000 / month, is 331 people (82.8 percent) while have
income Rp 1,000,000 / month in 69 people (17, 3 percent).
In the insurance variable can be seen that the number of respondents who participated
in health insurance more, as many as 284 people (71.0 percent) compared to respondents who
were not participants of health insurance, namely 116 people (29.0 percent) of the 400
respondents studied .
Based on the results of this study, it is known that the average distance to facilities
health is 19.17 minutes. In this study, the variable distance of health facilities seen that the
number of respondents living near facilities health was 273 (68.3%) more than respondents
who lived far from health facilities, namely 127 people (31.8% of 400 respondents surveyed.
in the discussion that is described in this paper can be analyzed that the respondents were
using traditional medicines is higher than those who do not use traditional medicine.
Some of the factors that affect the high use of traditional medicines which are within
the level of knowledge, where the extent of public awareness is higher, because the
knowledge of traditional medicine largely derived or obtained from family members. another
contributing factor in the use of medicine traditional among other jobs, health insurance,
education, family support and income that triggers the use of traditional medicine it self.
E. Conclusion
Respondents were motivated to use traditional medicines with factors, predisposing
namely the perceived illness while the supporting factors were level economic, domicile,
type of complaint, insurance, and distance to health facilities. Other factors that can support
the use of medicinal plants are family support and promotion of medicine traditional.
