(1) Take the Rug on the table and take the measurement in
Lengthwise & widthwise.
(2) Put the sample in automatic washing machine.
(3) Set the machine at Normal or Delicate for washing as
per care instruction.
(4) Add 66 gm WOB detergent powder.
(5) Start the washing machine and complete the washing
cycle.
(6) Place the sample with load in the tumble dryer and dry
it.
(7) Condition the dry sample for at least 4hrs.Take the
measurement lengthwise & widthwise.

a) Prepare 0.5 g/l L- Histidine Monohydrochloride Mono
hydrate C6H9O2N2.HCl.H2O) + 5 g/l Sodium Chloride +

(Adjust pH 8 with 0.1 N sodium Hydroxide Solution)
B) (ACID METHOD)
b) Prepare 0.5 g/l L- Histidine Monohydrochloride
Monohydrate (C6H9O2N2.HCl.H2O) +5 g/l Sodium
Chloride + 2.2 g/l Sodium di-hydrogen Orthophosphate.
(Adjust pH 5.5 with 0.1 N Hydrochloric Acid Solution)
(1) Cut the specimen of specific size and mount with multifibre
fabric.
(2) Put this mounted specimen in distilled water for 15 min at
room temp with occasional stirring.
(3) Remove the specimen and squeeze it. (Wet the specimen is
more then 3 times its dry weight)
(4) Place the squeezed specimen between two plastic plates in
perspiration tester.
(5) Apply 4.5 kg. pressure on the specimen.
(6) Put the perspiration tester in the oven at 380C for 18 Hrs.
(7) Remove the specimen from the oven and dry it by hanging in
air at room temp.

i) Make 1% solution of the sample
ii) Put the pH electrod in to the solution & take the pH reading of the solution.

i) Weigh approx. 2 gm. Of a sample in pettry disk & note down.
ii) Keep it in the oven at 1000 C (+/- 2) for 3 hrs.
iii) Take it out from the oven & keep it out side for cooling for some times &
weigh the residue.
