Bandi River Cleaning Campaign

Bandi River is Originating from Bomadara pick up weir situated near village
Bomadara, Panchyat Samiti Pali. Where two rivers are merging namely Khardi River and
Mithri River originally originating from Aravali hills. It covers around 60-65 Km. length
in the district. This river passes through the Pali city. Pali city is famous for its colouring
dying & printing industry across the country. Two structures are built across the river are
lodiya pick up weir and Bandi Nehra dam. The Lodiya pick up diverts the water to lodiya
tank situated in the heart of the city. The capacity of the Lodiya Tank is about 43 mcft.
The Bandi Nehra dam is situated about 45 Km. from Pali district headquarter
and near village Nehra of Rohat tehsil. The capacity of dam is about 260 Mcft. The
industrial effluent from the industry & treatment plant and city sewage is thrown into this
river. The local contractors working in the vicinity are taking sand from the river. The
cumulative impacts of all these activities are polluting the river. This pollution is due to
the stagnant water in the river in different patches with different depth. This foul smell
became the typical identification of Pali city for the travelers crossing the Town.
