It is with mixed emotions that I submit this letter of resignation as my role of a Milton-Freewater Unified
School District Board member. Effective immediately, I would like to be removed from all future Board
documents. The following is my reason for resigning:
Our current Chairman, Donald Miller, has conducted himself, in my opinion, unprofessionally and
unethically as the Chairman of the board and as a board member for the following reasons.
A. He is disrespectful to district administrative staff. This has been reported to me by several
administrators.
B. Don Miller has been disrespectful to the District Superintendent as told to me by several
employees that have witnessed it.
C. Don Miller has been disrespectful and condescending to every board member at one time or the
other.
D. Don Miller has walked a fine line of ethics in his quest to remove Dr. Marylyn McBride from
her position as the Districts Superintendent.
E. Don Miller decided to rewrite the board goals without complete board consent.
F. Don Miller broke a promise to students in agreeing to make a decision on a proposed club at a
certain time.
G. Don Miller decided to rewrite the board superintendent evaluation to fit his own agenda of
relieving her of her duty.
F. In my opinion, Don Miller is not good for the District or the students in it. He does not set a
good example of what a leader should be for our youth. Leaders should follow through on what they say.
Leaders should treat all with respect. A leader, Don Miller is not.

Before Don Miller was elected, the board worked on decisions together in a professional manner.
Everyone was heard and listened to. Since Don Miller was elected to the chair, there have been several
heated discussions. On several occasions, I can only speak for myself, I have waited and raised my hand to
have a chance to speak and Don Miller looked right at me and never allowed me to speak.

Don Miller has also asked for volunteers for certain committees and when raising my hand to volunteer,
Don Miller elected to assign another Board Member that had not volunteered to the task.

I have given my time, heart and sole to the District for 6 years. I will not sit by and allow one person, Don
Miller, to destroy what this District has created in the last 6 years. I will not be a part of his condescending
attitude to Board Members and Staff. Unlike Don Miller, I will take the high road and resign my position
because as I know myself, I am unable to treat him with respect in an open meeting. Disrespecting anyone,
right or wrong, is not a good example for students.

Respectfully,
Sharee LaRue-Wright
