stinking pavement.
XR400R Anybody who thinks bigger is always better obviously hasn’t
experienced Honda’s awesome XR ™400R. Light, agile, narrow, yet pow-
erful, the 400 is as happy cruising over a 12,000-foot pass as it is blasting
through a rock-strewn sandwash or picking its way through a tight,
tree-lined trail.
And—big surprise—since Honda blazed the way in the class, there are
now a couple of other 400-class bikes out there. But as similar as they
are in displacement, none of them can offer the ingredients that make
the XR400R so good: unmatched reliability, a wide, easy-to-use power-
