puji syukur kehadirat Allah SWT, karena berkat
rahmat dan ridho-Nya jualah kita masih diberikan
nikmat kesehatan dan kesempatan sehingga pada

hari ini kita dapat hadir dan bersilaturahmi dalam
rangka mengikuti Acara “International
Conference 7th Sriwijaya Economics,
Accounting and Business Conference (SEABC)

2021” pada hari Selasa tanggal 16 November

2021 bertempat di Aula Gedung Magister

Manajemen Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas
Sriwijaya, Bukit Besar, Palembang, dengan
tema “Economic Rebound : Time to Fly High”.

Rasa syukur ini marilah kita iringi dengan

do’a dan harapan semoga maksud dan tujuan
pelaksanaan International Conference tahun
2021 ini dapat menjadi salah satu wadah
pengembangan ilmu ekonomi, wahana
penyebar ilmu pengetahuan, untuk

mempersiapkan tenaga pendidik dan untuk
mempersiapkan para anak didiknya menjadi
sumber daya manusia yang siap dalam
menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0 ini.

Hadirin yang saya hormati,

Seperti yang telah kita ketahui
bersama, dampak Pandemi Covid-19
menyebabkan tertekannya roda
perekonomian terutama pada sektor
lapangan usaha dominan di Sumatera
Selatan yaitu sektor perdagangan, sektor
pertambangan dan penggalian, sektor
industri pengolahan dan sektor konstruksi.
Pemerintah berusaha melakukan sinergi
percepatan penanganan Covid-19 dan

Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional (PEN) dengan
mengintensifkan vaksinasi bagi seluruh
masyarakat, peningkatan kapasitas fasilitas
kesehatan, dan perlindungan social
sebagaimana tema dari acara ini.

Strategi dalam pemulihan ekonomi di

Sumatera Selatan meliputi: percepatan
pencapaian herd immunity / kekebalan
kelompok terhadap virus covid-19 melalui
vaksinasi dan tetap melaksanakan protokol
kesehatan. Kemudian mendorong hilirisasi
produk unggulan terutama Karet, CPO,
Batubara, serta Pulp & Kertas. Selanjutnya
perlu mengembangkan Sumber
Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Baru terutama pada
sub sektor yang memiliki dampak ekonomi

yang tinggi namun risiko penyebaran
penyakit yang rendah seperti sub sektor
tanaman pangan dan perkebunan.

Strategi selanjutnya adalah mendorong

gairah ekonomi yang terkait dengan UMKM,
ekonomi kreatif, ekonomi syariah yang
didukung oleh pengembangan digitalisasi
ekonomi.

Hadirin yang saya hormati,

Perguruan tinggi memiliki peran penting

dalam pengembangan ekonomi dalam upaya
pemulihan ekonomi nasional. Oleh karena itu,
Perguruan Tinggi diharapkan dapat
memberikan sumbangsih dalam bentuk

pemikiran, inovasi, penyiapan SDM dan
mendorong literasi dalam memajukan
ekonomi Indonesia.
Saya mengharapkan Universitas Sriwijaya
khususnya Fakultas Ekonomi, sebagai salah
satu universitas terbaik di Sumatera Selatan,
untuk mengambil peran dalam rangka
mencetak generasi muda yang unggul di
bidang ekonomi untuk mempercepat
tumbuhnya perekonomian di Sumatera
Selatan.
Demikianlah sambutan yang perlu saya
sampaikan pada kesempatan yang berbahagia
ini. Saya juga menyampaikan apresiasi
kepada seluruh civitas akademika Universitas
Sriwijaya yang telah menyelenggarakan

konferensi ini menghasilkan rumusan-
rumusan yang inovatif bagi pengembangan
ekonomi.

Greetings to all of us.

Dear,

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen,

First of all, let us thank to Allah SWT because
of His grace and blessing; he still gives us

health and opportunity. So that today we can
attend and gather to take part in the
"International Conference 7th Sriwijaya
Economics, Accounting and Business
Conference (SEABC) 2021" on Tuesday,
November 16, 2021, at the Master of
Management Building Hall, Faculty of
Economics, University of Sriwijaya, Bukit
Besar, Palembang, with the theme "Economic
Rebound: Time to Fly High."

This gratitude, let us accompany it with

prayers and hopes, hopefully, the aims and
objectives of the 2021 International
Conference can be a place for facilities and
infrastructure for the development and

dissemination of knowledge, especially
economics, and to prepare and create
qualified and highly knowledgeable
educators, who can help their students
become human resources that are ready to
face the Industrial Revolution 5.0.

Ladies and gentlemen,

As we all know that, the impact of the Covid-
19 Pandemic has depressed the economy,
especially in the dominant business sector in
South Sumatra, namely the trade sector,
mining and quarrying sector, manufacturing
sector, and construction sector. The
government has tried to synergize to
accelerate the handling of Covid-19 and

National Economic Recovery by intensifying
vaccinations for all communities, increasing
the capacity of health facilities, and social
protection as the theme of this event.

Strategies for economic recovery in South

Sumatra include: accelerating the
achievement of herd immunity against the
COVID-19 virus through vaccination and
continuing to implement health protocols.
Then, encourage the downstreaming of
superior products, especially Rubber, CPO,
Coal, and Pulp & Paper. Furthermore, it is
necessary to develop New Sources of
Economic Growth, especially in the sub-
sectors with a high economic impact but a

low risk of disease spread, such as the food
crops and plantation sub-sectors.
The following strategy is to encourage
economic passion related to MSMEs, creative
economy, and sharia economy supported by
the development of economic digitization.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Universities have an essential role in
economic development in efforts to recover
the national economy. Therefore, universities
are expected to be able to contribute in the
form of thinking, innovation, preparing
human resources, and encouraging literacy in
advancing the Indonesian economy.
I expect University of Sriwijaya, especially

the Faculty of Economics, as one of the best
universities in South Sumatra, to take a role
in order to produce a young generation who
excels in the field of economics" to accelerate
economic growth in South Sumatra.

Thus, a few words that I need to convey on

this happy occasion. I also express my
appreciation to the entire academic
community of University of Sriwijaya, which
has held the International Conference "7th
Sriwijaya Economics, Accounting, and
Business Conference (SEABC) 2021".
Hopefully, this conference will produce
innovative formulations for economic
development.
