The purple pill goes to my brain

The capsules tell me not to wheeze
Or cough or choke or even sneeze.

in Mt. Vernon, Texas.
The bar began construction on
expansion of their building to increase
their business. In response, the local
Baptist church started a campaign to
block the bar from expanding with pe-
titions and prayers.
Work progressed right up until
the week before the grand re-opening,
when lightning struck the bar and it
burned to the ground.
After the bar burning to the
ground the church folks were rather
smug in their outlook, bragging about
“the power of prayer”, until the bar
owner sued the church on the grounds
that the church was ultimately respon-
sible for the demise of his building, ei-
ther through direct or indirect actions
or means”.
In its reply to the court, the
church vehemently denied all respon-
sibility or any connection to the build-
ing’s demise.
The judge read through the
plaintiff’s complaint and the defen-
dant’s reply and at the opening hearing
he commented, “I don’t know how
I’m going to decide this, but it ap-
pears from the paperwork that we
have a bar owner who believes in
the power of prayer and an entire
church congregation that now does
not believe in the power of prayer”.
A man came home from the doc-
tor’s office, and his wife asked
how he had checked out.
“Humph,” the man said disgust-
edly. “He told me I’m either 40
pounds too heavy or 4 inches to

 GOD IS IN CONTROL!
I buried my sister a few years
ago and last year my brother-in-law
married a dear friend of mine.
They both had houses and they
have been trying to get rid of things so
their things would fit in one house.
On New Year’s Eve they were
staying in my brother-in-law’s house,
because the heater was out in her house.
Her house was closed for about a week
and the teens in the neighborhood saw
an opportunity to break in.
His wife didn’t find out that
they had broken in until a few days later.
She was just heart sick. She had all of
her mother and father’s antiques in the
house. Her father had collected clocks
and railroad watches. The thieves stole
all of her father’s watches, plus other
things. She was able to turn loose of
all of it, but the watches had meant so
much to her. The police came and did
not find any leads as to who had broken
into the house.
The next morning her son By-
ron called and said, “Mother, I have all
your watches”. You see her son runs a
pawn shop in downtown Oak Cliff and
the boy who stole her watches brought
them straight to him. Now there are
hundreds of pawn shops in the Dallas
area and only God could have directed
that boy to the right shop. Her son got
the boys phone number, his drivers li-
cense number, his car license number,
and his picture. The boy was shocked
when he found out he had taken his
goods to the son of the woman he had
robbed.
Our God can protect us and
redeem us when He desires to. His
mercy is new every morning.

MONTHLY REPORT
Well, every day we live in Christ is a day to be remembered. Following
Christ is never boring. I had a 93 year old woman tell me this week that you
never get to old to learn. How true.
This paper is very late and we almost decided to put March and April
together, but we decided it is better to be late than to miss a month. Also, the post
office is sending many of our papers back, even though they had good addresses
on them. Please pray with us about this. They tell us that when we get the bar-
codes on the paper they will not be sending any back. We have not received any
gifts toward the $600 we expected to pay for equipment, but we believe it will
be provided.
Some of our monthly supporters have gone through some health prob-
lems and some have gone through deaths in their family. Please pray for those
who give and keep this paper going each month. Gloria has been down for a
week again this month and is fighting an infection that she got from the hospital.
She is up at this point and the surgery is doing great. Please pray that the infec-
tion can be destroyed soon.
Please pray for our churches. These days are hard times and many are
under heavy burdens. We learned that 200 churches declared bankruptcy last
year. We praise the Lord that our church is debt free, but it is a matter of prayer
to meet the weekly needs. Many churches took on missionaries when they were
booming and are still trying to maintain those missionaries, although their in-
come has dropped greatly. There are many on the fields looking to the churches
to keep them on their fields. There are many churches without pastors and it is
getting harder and harder to find men of God who have a pastor’s heart. We
are coming upon the last days and we need to pray for one another. Tid Bits of
Wisdom hopes to be able to encourage the believers to walk by faith and expect
great things from our God who is able to do all things well.
We would love to receive stories about how the Lord has worked in
other lives. Testimonies are the best way to encourage other believers and we
ask you to share yours with us.
