Important Safety Notice: Only competent/skilled persons should carry out procedures
detailed in this manual.
Safety Notice
Automatic Raise Arm Barriers are designed to control the flow of motor vehicles and
motorcyclists. It is dangerous to permit pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians to
pass and travel through the barrier when it is in motion.
It is recommended that easy alternative routes are provided for non-vehicular traffic
and that suitable warning and direction signs are placed on either side of the barrier.
Please sign and date below to say that you have read and understood
this notice before commencing any maintenance and/or adjustment work:

General Safety Standards
Before attempting to install and maintain the automatic raise arm barrier, it is important that the
following notes are read and understood. Competent and skilled persons should alv.ays cany oot
any work. Keep these instructions forMure use.
Electrical wiring and adjustments must be carried out in compliance of current safety standards.
NOTE: -
The automatic barrier is essentially a robust barrier designed for entry/exit for motorised vehicles and is
not designed for pedestrian use. Any other usage will be deemed improper and dangerous.
Employers have a responsibility under Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to
ensure as is reasonably practicable the health and safety of employees and other persons who rray be
affected by work activities. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
further imposes a specific duty upon employers to carry out suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment
of all risks to health and safety of employees and others. Therefore it is recommended a Risk
Assessment be carried out by a competent person in accordance with Regulations 3 (I) Management
of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Transportation, Handling & General Layout
This section covers important health and safety advice for correct handling techniques of the barrier
and how your barrier will be delivered to you.
The barrier should always be moved with care and attention, The barriers are very heavy and you
should not attempt to move them or any other products by unapproved handling techniques.
The diagrams below illustrates correct and incorrect manual handling techniques.

Manual Operation of the D3200
To operate the barrier manually, e.g. in the event of power failure, you must first open the cabinet
door. Leaving the cabinet door open, place your hand wind wind handle (provided) on the bottom of the
motor bolt as shown in above picture. Rotate handle clockwise until the pole is in the desired position.
Once the pole is in the desired position, replace lid and close cabinet door as barrier will not operate
with the door open (when power is restored).
Replacement pole arm adaptors can be ordered from Ultimation Direct for next day delivery or
one of our engineers can come out and change it for you.

3) Auto reverse
This option allows the user to choose whether or not you want the gate to reverse or stop on a safety
input being activated. E.g. on a vehicle breaking the safety beam or loop, the gate will reverse if
option is switched on and will stop if set to off.
4) Closedelay
This option allows the user to set a closing delay time upon vehicles leaving the safety beam/loop.
5) Auto Close
This option enables the auto/close feature which will automatically close the gate as long as safety
features are not triggered.

The inverter allows a three-phase motor to be run off a single-phase supply for more efficiency and
better motor control i.e. allows the speed of the motor to be adjusted.

Maintenance of the D3200
.!.!!!I.!ortant Note:- &.
.
Before carrying out any maintenance or work to the barrier, isolate the power supply.
If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or it's
technical assistance service, or else by a suitably qualified person.
When any operational malfunction is found, and not resolved, disconnect the mains
power supply and request the assistance of a suitably qualified person, to prevent any
risk.
1) Motor/Gearbox
This unit is "sealed" for life and therefore requires no further lubrication.
2) Lubrication
The following picture illustrates points in the barrier that need to be lubricated, Using
high performance EP2 Lithium grease. The barrier lid must first be removed by
undoing nuts located inside the barrier cabinet, locations shown below, but from above.
Limit switch
Limit switch
3) Limit switches
Shown in above picture, these must be set correctly to ensure correct operation
of the D3200. This should only be done by qualified personnel.
