I analyzed all types of test data and assisted princ ipals in the development of research-based strategies and programs to improve st udent achievement. I also was responsible for coordinating and maintain documen tation for ELL students, Title I, Early Intervention Programs, and 20 extra day funds, and the Homeless population. Assisted Assistant Superintendent to develop professional development plans for the system. Pursued relevant grant opportuni ties from state, federal, private, institutional and organizational sources. Imp lements funded proposals and complied with reporting requirements. 2008 ? 2009 Principal Bremen 4th and 5th Grade Academy, Bremen, Georgia As the school leader, I took all the responsibility of opening a new school with the systems? 4th and 5th grade staff and students. The goal of the school was t o provide a magnet or charter school experience for all students. I was able to research best practices as the Principal for a year prior to the school?s openin g. The curriculum highlighted math, science, and technology. The focus was on pr oviding students with an interdisciplinary education offering real life hands-on experience, acceleration, and accurate remediation differentiated to address in dividual students skill gaps. I directed the Response to Intervention process an d purchased remedial technology programs after careful research. When money was a barrier to purchase innovative curricular aids and equipment I wrote grants an d received over $160,000 dollars worth of money in the years of 2007-2009. I was in charge of monitoring and maintaining a safe, healthy, peaceful environm ent conducive to learning. I balanced the classrooms and scheduled innovative p rograms that both helped students and increased FTE funding. I also monitored th e achievement, practices, and attendance of students and teachers. I reviewed al l curriculum, instructional practices, student work products, and test data to i nsure that the students received the quantity and quality of education so that t hey could reach their full potential. I supervised the school leadership team, s chool council, and the parent teacher association. 2004 ? 2008 Assistant-Principal H.A. Jones Elementary, Bremen, Georgia Assisted the Principal in the monitoring and evaluation of school staff. Served as the Curriculum and Instructional Assistant Principal concerned with issues re lated to teacher improvement, student achievement, and curriculum and instructio nal differentiation for at-risk students. I also assisted in running a safe lear ning environment conducive to student learning. I served as the Program Director of the after school program. The program focused on student enrichment, remedia tion, and vocabulary development though rich experiences designed to engage and enrich each after school learner. Developed a partnership with the Bremen Parks and Recreation Department to provide enrichment programs such as art, music, pot tery, acting, and cooking. During my leadership, the after school program increa sed enrollment by more than 100 students. We used ?20 extra day money?, Title 1 funds, and parent pay to meet each learner and expand their learning capability. I wrote two grants and gained over $25,000 dollars to purchase instructional ai ds to assist at-risk learners. The program made a profit. Proceeds were used to purchase technology for the school. 1994 ? 2004 Guidance Counselor and Director of Student Support Team, H.A. Jo nes Elementary School Bremen, Georgia Provided individual, small group, and class counseling services on a variety of topics with the goal of school improvement. Performed duties and responsibilitie s consistent with that of an elementary school counselor including: character ed ucation designer and coordinator, service learning coordinator, community networ king, Student Support Team Coordinator, Mentor Program recruiter, trainer, and c oordinator. Also, provided parent training regarding special programs for at-ris k student populations. 1993 - 1994 Guidance Counselor Haralson County High School Tallapoosa, Georgia As Guidance Counselor, I coordinated and performed guidance counseling to 9th an d 10th grade students. Provided classroom guidance on topics such as study skill s, career exploration, class selection, and student achievement.
