Position: Administrative and Executive Assistant
Worked in various departments including Transportation, Nuclear Engineering, Saf
ety and Licensing, System Operation, Customer Service, and IT.
My responsibilities included support to various projects encompassing meeting lo
gistics and scheduling, capturing action items in meetings, and interfacing with
internal and external clients. Using creativity, I constructed PowerPoint pres
entations for directors and managers. My ability to work successfully with inter
nal and external parties to coordinate numerous workshops and offsites on short
notice, including lodging, equipment, catering, and administrative support, was
very positive.
Time management skills for the executive director were a major role for me, whic
h included heavy calendaring and scheduling, materials preparation for meetings,
PowerPoint graphics from rough draft, and composition of written documents. To
assist the manager or executive, I would ensure documents for signature were ac
curate and acceptable; such as expense reports, travel requisitions, and interna
l and external mail. Adherence to confidentially was essential in my work. It w
as necessary for me to screen incoming calls by routing and delegating as necess
ary to appropriate staff.
Computer skills are one of my strongest points. Using various software programs,
I developed statistical charts and tables for support staff. Using the plotter
printer and compatible software, I developed large goal charts and made large p
osters for display. For various meetings, I would capture and transcribe action
items. My general duties included handling and processing mail, phone support, t
ravel and catering arrangements, ordering office supplies, equipment maintenance
, filing, processing forms, and assisting staff with their work needs. This inc
luded putting together documents and reports. Greeting visitors and employees f
rom other departments was essential to my work day. Working in Grid Dispatch, I
was also the team lead for the administrative assistants, enhancing a cohesive
work environment.
