The curriculum revolved around the earlier part of the Middle Ages in
England. The main points of interests were: Anglo-Saxon Art and
Society, the Migration Period and the links between Britain and West
Francia, from the Carolingians to the Crusades. The dissertation
research was dedicated to the manufacture, circulation and consumption
of Anglo-Saxon ivories, 700-1100 AD. Trade routes and stylistic
comparisons with continental productions were researched as part of
the project.

Honors: magna cum laude
Core studies focused on the History of Western Art, from prehistoric
civilizations to the European Baroque, with special interest on the
Medieval and Renaissance periods. Other specialized courses included
British Literature, the Philosophy of Aesthetics and French as a third
language. The dissertation explored the lifework of renowned Puerto
Rican artist, Julio Micheli (whose work ranges from the Abstract
Expressionist style to scientific drawings).
