0 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Thank God for giving us adequate time and space to complete the task
entrusted to us. This task is a very valuable experience that we get where it involves
a successful interview with the Mr. Wong. Here, we would like to thank so much
for Mr. Wong Han Chong has been willing to spend his time to receive our
interview. He was a good heart, friendly and responsible person. In addition, we
also want to thank the partners in arms who gave good cooperation in resolving this
task.
We also thank for our lecturers Pn. Aznita because she had help us a lot
in providing information that should fulfill the task title should we prepare. Finally,
we thank you to all involved in implementing this task, especially our group
members.

2.0 INTRODUCTION

Our group members choose the letcurer at Fakulti Bahasa from Universiti
Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Tanjong Malim, Perak. He is Mr Wong Han Chong
as interviewee for our group for the coursework English Communication 2 (EC).
This appointment was conducted at office in Fakulti Bahasa. This interview was
conducted on February 22, 2010 at 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm. We consist of 5 students
from the group L Siti Munira bt Mohd Nasir, Siti Azlina Bin Ismail, Umi
Hiddayatul, Teo Sook Kuan , Loh Yun Jing. This interview took about 1 hour and
involves all group members, each member of the group provided 2 or 3 questions to
ask Mr. Wong.
Before we managed to find someone we have interviewed, there were a variety of
risks and unexpected. However, we were finally able to find the one most suitable
for our task to implement interviewed. Mr. Wong is a very friendly and willing to
share his experience and success to us.. This interview also give our group chance to
experience for interview who person success in their life like Mr. Wong. We gained
a lot of information and advice from him.
This interview covers the history of life, education, experience, opinions, visions
and others associated with him. He was very excited to share experiences and
opinions to us. Mr. Wong calm in answering our questions lead us not hesitate to ask

more questions to him. We are happy to interview his because we have learn a lot of
information, advise and experience.

3.0 Biodata of the interviewee


On 5pm 23rd February 2010, my group went to the interview with Mr. Wong
who is lecturer of Chinese’s programmed in UPSI. I was the first person that asked
questions in the interview. I started to asked him about his family’s background. He
told me that he already married on 1983 with his formal click. Both of them are
teaching in the same school in SMJK York Kwan, Selangor. He also said that he
being a teacher at that school for 5 years and his wife is 3 years before get move to
Kuala Lumpur. After moved to Kuala Lumpur, he was transferred to the SMJK
Kembangan and his wife also was transferred to SMJK Kajang.
He shared with us about his children information. His first daughter was born
on 1987 and his second daughter was born after 6 years later. He also said to me that
he already at this university as a contract lecturer. Then, I asked him about his
education’s background. He shared with us about it. He said that he was school at
SRJK Kenji, Kuala Lumpur since he was in standard one until standard six. After
that, he said that he continues his secondary school at SMK Jalan Cheras in Kuala
Lumpur too. Then he attend his high school in from six at SMK Jalan Konkrit in
Kuala Lumpur. He enter to the University Malaya on 1974 until 1977. He being a
Cambridge teacher at SMJK York Kwan for one year after he finishes his studies.
Then he do the Diploma of education at University Malaya because he want to be a
teacher. His finish his diploma on 1978. He started his job as a graduate teacher on

January 1979. He said he being a teacher at the same school went he do the
Cambridge teacher. He just spend his life at that school only 5 years before he was
transferred to the SMJK Kembangan,Kuala Lumpur. After he finish his talk, I give
another questions to my friends to ask Mr. Wong. I changed my placed to make my
friends easier to interview Mr. Wong.

4.0 Description of the interviewee’s career


According to Mr. Wong, the vision of his life is he like teaching very much
and he think this is the something like inborn interest. He would like to spend the
rest of his life in teaching as long as he live, and if he can. Then , he want continue
teaching and the vision of his life is to educate more children, more young people
and to guide them toward the correct ways and become good citizens in Malaysia.
Mr. Wong had taught for many years in secondary school, almost 11 years
and he switched became to a lecturer in teacher training college. So, he had taught
almost11 years in secondary school and the other 17 years as lecturer in teacher
training college. That means, he had teaching in 3 different places, Maktab
Perguruan Lebuk Pantai, Kuala Lumpur as a Chinese lecturer, Maktab Perguruan
Kinta, Ipoh for half year and then the rest of about 10 years he taught in another
teacher teaching college. So, all together his teaching life was 28 years.
After Mr. Wong retired in the end of June 2007, he rest more than half of
year, is about 9 months. Then, he became relief teacher in 2008 until he got the
offer and the contract became a lecturer in UPSI for 2 years and his contract is
from 2008 December to 2010 December. So, hopefully Mr. Wong can continued
his job in UPSI.
The factors that contributed Mr. Wong to be a lecturer is he had many
interest in this job. He like to teach. He think that it is part of his life and he like to

talk. He like to input his knowledge to young people, to share with them, let them
know about the Chinese, Mandarin, History and everything.
The biggest challenge when Mr. Wong start off as a lecturer is because the
students came from different family background, different educational background,
different level of profession in Chinese language, so he found that there is great
differences among the level of usage of Chinese language because he was teaching
in Chinese language courses. For Mr. Wong, some of the students well-prepared,
they are good profession in the language, so for them should not be the problem.
But, some of them who are not good profession in language, they normally difficult
understand what was Mr. Wong taught, especially during the phonetic course.
Most of them, they do not have the good foundation, good background, good sound
knowledge in phonetic. So, for them, is a problem when they face the problem in
understanding, in pronunciation, in writing and others. So, this is the greatest
challenges for Mr. Wong in teaching. Students came from different background,
and they use different dialet, like Hokkien, Hakka. So, he had to spend a lot of time
to driving them in daily communiciation.
The others challenges that Mr. Wong faces is students’ attitude towards
study. Some of them, they are not so keen because this course are not their first
opinion. Even though for some of them never apply for this course. But, they are
given this course, so they are show not any interest and they just want to get the
degree and the job. This is not their main interest to become a Chinese language
teacher. So, Mr. Wong think that their attitude and their concept should be change
by guiding them towards the right thinking. That means, they want to be a good
teacher, they have to develop some interest in this course and this subject and also
hard work to do everything. They should be well-prepared, not only for the
examination or presentation and assignments, they should be prepare everythin,set
up their mind and hardworking.
According to Mr. Wong, he always prepared himself to face up the
challenges. He knows that he have to give himself time and have to be very
preparation to teach the students. He have to full patient to guard them, correct their
mistakes full-heartly and giving them different exercises, giving them a lot of

“humour” during the lesson so that the lesson become more interesting, not so
boring. Sometime he makes joke with his students, sometime he laughs with them.
So, the class become more lively. When the class become more lively, the cordial
relationship between lecturer and the students should be very much advanced. He
think that is the way he curb this problem.
To change the students’ mind set, he always talk to them sometimes whether
casually or maybe outside the classroom to give them some peck talk, comfort
them, give some advise. So that they really take their study serious and prepared
themselves well to become a good secondary school teacher in the future.
The greatest strength in Mr. Wong will be can talk to the student, can
communicate with them and also can tolerance except certain important thing. He
like to teach the class which is reactive, good response, not talk and talk only. This
is because he don’t like just he give the students everything and then they just listen
and they don’t response. Mr. Wong can do quite well in this sense that he can
communicate with students, can talk to them and don’t show his angry face in front
of the students. All this is because of helping them, helping them to understand the
lesson, to make the lesson more interesting and also guard them along the way.
What is the most difficult to guard them because he know that some of them cannot
follow the lesson. So, he will ask them what are the questions they do not
understand? What area they could not understand? In that way, he get the response
from the students. In this case, it help solving a lot of his problem. So, this is his
greatest strength.
Besides that, he is very responsible. He hope that his students will do well
in the exam and pass with flying colour. In order to achieve that, he prepared
himself improve his intelligent strength to much advanced. He also like the students
to do revision and prepared before he start the lesson.
In his opinion, he is a bit soft-hearted in some case. When the student can’t
finish their assignment in time, they always ask for permission to give them more
time. That means they will pass up their assignment more later. He always allowed
them to do so because of soft-hearted. And then because of that, sometime he

cannot key in the marks in time. So, he think that this is his weak point even
thought maybe this is his strong point in some student’s heart.
If some of the student don’t attend to his class without telling him. He will
very angry. In his opinion, he thinks that if a student absent themselves without
inform you or without telling you in advance, this is not respect to the lecturer. So,
he think anybody also will get angry. So, this is what Mr. Wong very particular
with. This is because he don’t want himself to get angry and show the angry though
the students.
The best part of being an educator of Mr. Wong Han Chong is education.
For the Mr. Wong think, educator is very best word which cannot wish teaching for
educate a person. Educating a person mean a take situation for changing behavior is
valuate in life and also phylosophy of teaching. Mr. Wong is compulsory on the
part in the government, officery servive and the best part of him is a educating
because not only teach student but educate them. There are student is very hardfull
study and cannot study, this is very important in their life. For the best on their life
when to listen a good adviser of people and good moral value the person on their
life. Mr. Wong think, he will know to request when so many student under him or
under teaching get closed and open the closing under him. So, he has founded while
be a teacher or educator. Mr. Wong think also, he necessary him dream of
becoming a teacher was kuck fortune a teaching after STPM to become a teacher in
their future and then be a decision to be become a teacher was born delivarded so
when he succesfully in come started in university so he got ready to become a
teacher. Mr. Wong also have a memory of teaching as a carier. He was given the
best classes, medium and the last classes. He not disappointed if student is not
interesting with their academic. So actually that one also with to pushing to thing to
of wave to improve the live and also open he mind be an educator especially
comment. Mr. Wong think also, student cannot which tent to IQ, EQ and then who
don’t want study upon thing on your class and noisy a lot of problem.
After that, Mr. wong also gives a opinion about the most important thing
that expect to be a good educators. Mr. Wong think to be a good educator must be
enrounder. Firstly, we must put yourself down to the land that mean must not show

with your subject, as teacher must listen 100 percentages for student respect to our
carrier as a teacher. Even though that, a democration line should be two line is a
joke with them and serious while a teach. Two online a location way are to be
expitching like go a bit. Thirdly, we must good moral value for role model to
student. The student will respect when have a good moral value. Fourly, we should
always seeking knowledge for life long education. We must read a newspaper,
article and everything to another to improve your knowledge. Student will respect
because you are rich a knowledgeable. Fively, we must good personality so we are
can communicate people the way we are can handle ourself, behalf and teaching.
Other than that, Mr. Wong also gives advice for people who dream to be a
good educator and yet find it hard to make the leap. Mr Wong should give advice
for young people want to be nature high work when go to the university. Mr Wong
also excel yourself by taking part a cocuriculum, port and then Personal
Releationship (PRO) to be good and also develop depent of education. Mr. Wong
think also that education is very important and should be sharing your knowledge to
people because other people will share our opinion about knowledge so we can
improve knowledge will be to correct. After that, we must show our creatibility so
student will come to you for sharing a problem.
According to Mr. Wong, the vision of philosophy of education must train
teach the hole person from all angle where it involves the knowledge, character,
overcome problem, independent and make choices. Firstly, educators should train a
student with knowledge. So, the student can become a good knowledge person
especially in academic study. Secondly, student must have a good character. They
can become a good citizen and contribute his skill to the society for a benefit of the
country, people, family and himself. Thirdly, student should know how to
overcome the problem. This is because everyone have a problem so they should
train or know how to stop the problem they have.
Fourthly, student also should train them to be independent. They must
know how to independent when living in particular place. Lastly, student should
know how to make the right decision. They cannot make a wrong decision when
they have a lot of choices such as academy study, future life, your partner or

whatever this. He also said that the current education system is examination-
oriented. This situation actually is not suitable for student because they should
know not all of student love to read. Maybe, for education system this situation is
easy for them to solve the education problem. So, according to Mr. Wong, the
education system must be change and must add the new vision in the future to be
more open-minded and look at globally that can give exposure not only in small
space.
In his opinion, because the education system to refer exam-oriented so all
of people evaluate the student on academic study. According to his opinion, some
student are not good in terms of academics but they better in terms of hangs on
knowledge, in doing work, in doing practical. This situation shows they did not like
writing, answering question, remembering and so on. But the student love to think
about skills work and this depends on the use of their left brain and right brain.
Some of student, use more right brain where it is better to language art while
student who use left brain their more of analatical or mathematic is very good and
they also very creative and have a high IQ.
So, according to his for evaluate student base on academic performance
there is not good because in our present education system will attract student
entering university base on the 90% academic study and 10% on cocuriculum. Mr.
Wong said, in future life the minister should change the way learning in schools
with the assignment not only depend on 100% examination as PMR, SPM and
STPM. Learning in school must be the same with learning in university like in this
university depends on 60% base on assignment and 40% base on final exam. So,
the student not just back on exam because maybe when they back on exam no
assignment they will get failed. When they have a assignment, the task can help
them to score a mark.
Besides that, according to Mr. Wong in future life school should follow
this university learning. Such as, maybe school make a 50% base on final exam and
50% base on assignment. This situation can produce student to work up in group
and learning something new like presentation, find the information and so on. For
50% base on final exam can help them to reduce their tension and also it will help

them to the revision with easy. This is a good way to help student from do the
mistake and they will get the good result. So, to evaluate the student base on
academic performance is not good and difficult to student.

5.0 Transcription
On 23rd evening of February 2010, our group had interview Mr. Wong Hon
Chong which is one of lecturer in UPSI. He was teaching in Chinese’s language course.
This is dialogue between our group members and Mr. Wong.

Umi : Good evening Mr. Wong.

Mr. Wong : Good evening.

Umi : We from EC group would like to interview Mr. Wong for our group
assignment. First question, can you tell us something about your family
background.

Mr. Wong : My family background. OK. I was married in 1983. My wife is my


former colleague. She is also a teacher. Both of us are teaching in a same
school which is the SMJK Yoke Kuan, Selangor. I taught at there for 5
years and my wife taught at there for 3 years. After we get married on
1983,we moved away (came back) to Kuala Lumpur (that where I stay
now) and I was teaching (transfer)to SMJK Kembangan, and my wife

was transfer to SMJK Kajang. Then, my first daughter was born on 1987
and the second daughter is on 1993. I only have 2 daughters. Different
between my daughters is 6 year. Apparently, now I am teaching at here as
a contract lecturer as a ‘Penyelaras’ in Chinese’s Programmed and
education course and my wife now was a senior assistant (PK 1) at SRJK
Salas Town. That’s all about my family background.

Umi : Thanks Mr. Wong. How about your educations background?

Mr. Wong : I started my primary school at SRJK Kenji, Kuala Lumpur. And then, I
attended my secondary school at SK Jalan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur until
from 5. Then I attended my from six studies at SMK Jalan Konkrit, Kuala
Lumpur. I enter to University Malaya from 1974 until 1977 in Kuala
Lumpur too.

Mr. Wong : I am being attachment teacher in SMJK Yoke Kuan, Selangor for one
year. Then I go continues my Diploma in Education in University Malaya
(UM) so I finish my diploma in education in 1978. On January 1979, I
started my work as a graduate teacher at SMK Yoke Kuan . I was back
to the Yoke Kuan school and I was spend for 5 years at there before get
transfer to SMK Kembangan. So that, is my education background.

Umi : Thank you and I give the another questions to my friends.

Teo : First at all, good evening to Mr.Wong. I would want to ask what is the
vision of Mr.Wong’s life?

Mr. Wong : Vision of my life ?

Teo : Yes.

Mr. Wong : I think I like teaching very much and the something like inborn interest.

and if I can. Then , if I still to work, I want continue teaching and the
vision of my life is to educate more children, more young people and to

Teo : So, what is the factors contributed you to be a lecturer?

Mr. Wong : I think after teaching for many years in secondary school, almost 11
years and I switch become to a lecturer in teacher training college. So,
11 years in secondary school and the other 17 years as lecturer in teacher
training college. So, I have teaching in 3 different places, nombor one is
Maktab Perguruan Lebuk Pantai, Kuala Lumpur as a Chinese lecturer.
Second, is Maktab Perguruan Kinta, Ipoh. I work at there for half of a
year and then the rest of about 10 years I teaching in another teacher
teaching college. So, all together my teaching life is 28 years. After I
retire in the end of June 2007, then I rest for about half or year, is more
than half of year, is about 9 months. Then, I become relief teacher in

reason why I want to become a lecturer is I have many interest in this

Teo : Then, what is the biggest challenge when you start off as a lecturer?

Mr. Wong : You means lecturer?

Teo : Yes.

Mr. Wong : I think the greatest challenge to me is because the students came from

level of profession in Chinese language, so I found that there is great
differences among the level of usage of Chinese language because I’m
teaching in Chinese language courses. Some of the students well-

Yun Jing : May I know how did you work through these challenges?

Mr. Wong : Basically I prepared myself, means I know that I have to face up the
challenges. I know that I have to give myself time and I have to be very
preparation to teach them. I have to full patient to guard them, correct their
mistakes full-heartly and giving them different exercises, giving them a lot
of “humour” during the lesson so that the lesson become more interesting,
not so boring. Sometime I make joke with them, sometime I laugh with
them. So, the class become more lively. When the class become more
lively, I think the cordial relationship between lecturer and the student

Yun Jing : What do you consider to be one of your greatest strengths?

communicate with them and also can tolerance, of course to the certain
thing we can’t. I like to teach the class which is reactive, good response,
not talk and talk only. I don’t like. I don’t like just I give them
everything and then they just listen and they don’t response. I think that I
can do quite well in this sense that I can communicate with student, I can

teach the lesson, before I start the lesson.

Yun Jing : And what do you consider to be one of your greatest weaknesses?

Mr. Wong : I think sometimes I’m a bit soft-hearted. When the student can’t finish
their assignment in time, they always ask for permission to lend time, to
give them more time. That means they will pass up their assignment more
later. If I allowed them, I always give allowance to them. And then
because of that, sometime I cannot key in the marks in time and delay it.
So, I think this is my weak point. It’s also my strong point and also my
weak point.
If some of the student don’t attend to the class, my class, they just
“ponteng” without telling me. I will very angry. I think to anybody this is
normal because human being. Because if a student absent themselves
without inform you or without telling you in advance. I think anybody
also get angry. So, sometime I’m very particular about this thing. I don’t
want myself and then I will be very angry. That will be my weak point, is
it?
Yun Jing : Thank you Mr. Wong. Now I pass the next question to my friends.
Siti Munira : What is the best part of being an educator for you?

Mr. Wong : Education is the best part, educator is very best word we cannot wish
teaching we want educate a person, that mean not wish a teaching the best
part in knowledge so educating a person mean a take situation changing
behavior my pact is valuate in life and also philosophy of teaching and
then i think the best educator to me, would be I have not regret for
changing in my hold life for teaching student so far I have not kurt any
one on life student perfect so many classes so many student maybe 300,
200 student on my hold teaching carrier, I think not of them, back gined,
class edit and the their almost good citizen the most of them event have
PHD, to become a doctor, to become be engineering can also perfectual in
the life in one minute did I have. I deal compulsory on the part of you on
the government, officery servive or during young people that I think that
best part of me is educating because not only teach them but I also educate
them. A person very study or cannot study, this is not very important in
their life they must should follow their life. The best on their life and to
listen good advisers of people which scartion and then all this good moral
value the person on their life. I think the best part of educating is a so
many children, get closed and open the closing so many children under
me, under my teaching, so I have know request I founded while be a
teacher be a educator. I think you can think which I necessary my dream
of becoming a teacher was kuck fortune a teaching after of my STPM I
waiting become a teacher of my future and then be a decision to be
become a teacher was born delivarded so when I was succesfully in come
started in university so I got ready are decided there are became a teacher.
If I was not given change to become Cambridge teacher maybe I lanted
want be lecturer educator lecturer. I always have a memory of teaching of
course my teaching carrier. I do have make some problem like some of
student if not interested in their study. I was given the best classes also the
medium classes. So when I was given the last classes in the formal. They
have taken any same I told what talk them, they have not interest in study
there not direction in their life, wanted, wanted. I was not be a

disappointed, so actually that one also people with to pushing to thing to
of wave to improve the live and also open my mind that my eye that be an
educator a teacher is not their easy especially comment. Men came of
them not pushing then easily of pushing that expression. They cannot
which tent passion student to IQ, EQ and then who don’t want study upon
thing on your class and noisy then a lot problem, we got two think about.
So be are not perfect for edicting look their location you would then. I
would long my carrier a teacher until 28 years, I teaching a carrier. I also
be continue a teacher.

Siti Munira : In your opinion, what’s the most important thing you expect to be a good
educators?
Mr. Wong :I think to be a good educator you must be rounder . First, you must put
yourself down to the land that mean you took must not show you are
subject, you are teacher you must listen to me 100 percentage of course
student should respect a teacher. Secondly, I think the relationship which
a very friendly, very closed among teacher with student. Even though that,
a democratic line but when student look see you so serious they cannot
come to you. We so jokevial and always laugh that they are bully you, so
I think that you have two online you must know when two online, you can
joke with them but you don’t like them apart overhead. So I think two
online a location way you are to be expitcing you like go a bit and then
you are looked a bit, put back a train. I think mantain are sudden level you
must know when to changing a bit land when to go back to bit that very
important criteria. Third, you must good moral value, you should good
cover your student. If you not showing good moral value, the way you
doneting, the way you coolting, the behavior is not to good, not the
obedient, not the discipline, they not comfortable like that. Of course, they
are not come to you because you not bad. Fourth, you should always
seeking knowledge you should be lifelong education. You have got to
read, to newspaper, you got read article, you got read everything to

another to improve your knowledge. Student will respect you because they
know that task do knowledge not necessary that this optimistic you feel
also of side of feel so that you push yourself very knowledgeable and
student will respect you. Fifth, good personality, you can communicate
people the way you will handle yourself, have a behalf, have you are
teaching. Personality teacher, you must be very strong more, very
pleasant, very presentable, everybody looked you very look up upon you,
they know came to you, approchable, officetable, account of personality,
student can respect you.

Siti Munira : Any advice for people who dream to be a good educator and yet find it
hard to make the leap?

Mr. Wong : I should gives for young people want to be nature feel to be high work
hard and when you are under university. Secondly, excel yourself by
taking part a curriculum, port and then PRO personal relationship to be
good can also develop depend of education. If you want be a teacher you
have to develop cannot search result lot strong designer to teach to impact
knowledge to the young. If you are doctor, PHD but you are not share a
people, I think is not good educating. You should be sharing your
knowledge, by sharing knowledge you will combine. So people can
comment about you and you can improve to be a correct. Doesn’t mean
that say, I not PHD model, you have a master, my knowledge about hold
so not by sharing. Somebody ask to you question then you do not know
the answer and then you feel you that moral life, be leader so that good to
you because you know you good something but not interesting, nobody is
perfect so that kind of offer feeling of reactional I think should is complete
to be creatable. Of course you must right, you must sent speech, taking to
them and of course leadership. You must show your creatibility, if student
got of you to share problem, you can help them. And of course you must
to be a very sensial helping of student.

Siti Azlina : In your opinion, what is the vision of education?

Mr. Wong : I think in ‘Falsafah Pendidikan Negara’, the vision of education should
be to train or to teach the hold person ‘insan yang menyeluruh’. Hold
person mean from all angle. Number one is knowledge. Educator should
train a student with a knowledge. So, that he become a good
knowledgeable person especially in academic study. Number two, will be
to more the person good character. So that, when he comes up to the
society he can a become a good citizen and contribute his skill and also
this work to the society for a benefit of the country, for a benefit of the
people, for a benefit of the family and himself.
Number three, will be or should know how to overcome problem
participle, sub problem participle. I think, everybody in this world based a
lot of problem in our daily life, everyday life. One week of the other group
have a problem. They should be train how to stopped problem by them. Of
course, not the young people or not the young kids. Started for youngster,
young people, for adult. I think, they should be thought, they should train
how to stop this problem because its that do know how to stop that
problem then he or she will create problem to be a family member. They
will awesome to stopped problem to young very dependent on others. So,
you should train them to be independent. Of course, whatever decision
them make should be wide with full of term. If they make a wrong
decision they can not reflect, they have to face their contribute.
‘Katakanlah ada pilihan’ a lot of choices, maybe for academy study, future
life, your partner, whatever this. So, they should know quite well that any
decision their make should be their on live, they cannot blink people. I
think, know this our education system is a still very-very examination
orientate. Then, it is not flow a student, it just book work. Of course, not
everybody. Some of them their catching book work and then, they come to
benifazing you problem that to how to overcome the problem. So, there is

the vision of our addition system in the future, should train and to be open
minded then also look at globally. Five factor. Not only seen that not show
of their hole, their family, not only that self..must along of exposed.

Siti Azlina : What is your view to the phenomenon that many people evaluate student
base on their academic performance?

Mr.Wong : Actually this question both sound to the vision that our academic study
quite examination orientate. So, everybody look at people or the evaluate
people on the academic performance. So, my opinion will be a sound
student their not so good academically but their good in other thing for
example in hangs on knowledge in doing work, in doing practical their
good but they not good in academic study. That means when come so
writing, when come so answering question, when come so remembering
they can not or analysing thinking but when doing think skill work their
good, so it is desert weather their born right brain or left brain. Some of us
born right brain they mean their more powerful with a good act languages.
If those people who one left brain, their more of analatical, mathematic is
very good and some people are born very creative, some people born IQ
very high. So, I think that the evaluate a person base on academic
performance there is not very justify, not so good. Of course, in our
present education system will come to attract into university popularity
base on the 90% base on academic performance and 10% base on your
curriculum. I think maybe in the future, the minister or they daily life that.
So, they have change in the future that the school basic with a assignment
should be a think into contraction how many person and not 100% base on
final exam. There is sitting the final exam in SPM, PMR or STPM. It
deserve like our university maybe 60 or 40. 60% of assignment and 40%
of final exam. So, we don’t just back on one exam. If u back of one exam,
no assignment maybe you just learn to failed, so twice student. So, will
give 60% of assignment so that the student will face up their the task by

doing the different assignment and then they can produce good work. It
can help them score a mark or rather them just read, read for what final
exam that said. I think, in the future school should follow this kind of that,
maybe 50/50. 50% assignment which the student got the do contribute
envantually or group of both of them and then that is consider 50% of the
final mark and another 50% person will be from final exam. So, in this
sense then the reduce that student tension and also it will help them to the
revision and do the work to are the hole course not only back final exam.
Only back one final exam, I think that is very difficult. If that they are
person is good to are the hole peer but one she or he is sitting of the finally
exam is sudden mistake and he will good or he will pass. Evaluate a
person base on poor perfect academic performance, I think that is very-
very should be or not fearful but before any the mistake education
preliminary good base of representative so it is skill at a performer at the
move.

6.0 Reflections
After doing this interview, we become more understand about Mr. Wong. We
understand what is his desire to his student, the problem that Mr. Wong faces in his
life as a lecturer and also the ways he face all this challenges.
From the ways he face the problems and the attitude he never give up to the
students and his ambition, we know that he is a good educator. Actually we think
that maybe Mr. Wong are really good in communication with his students, but his
greatest strength will be his never give up characteristic in finishing his work as an
educator. Therefore, we hope that his student can continue his spirit in education
someday to become a good educator same like him.
Firstly, after receiving assignments from lecturers EC, we have been given
assignments to interview someone who is successful and has the ideal personality.
Each group is given 5 members of which we are given the opportunity to select
members of our group. Then we have a group discussion to make the first selection
of who we should interview. Prior to that, we have been asked to prepare some
questions to the person who will be our choice in our task. This question will be
given to each member of the group so that each person involved in this interview
session. Finally we have found someone suitable and meet the criteria we look for

our task, our group made an appointment with him and we obtain the appropriate
time and place for this interview session was held.
At the time that has been promised, we all went to his office in the Faculty of
Languages for the interview session. Once he reached the office, we ask permission
from him to take photo with him. Then we start our interview session was to serve as
reference material in our tasks. Interview session was held with the first question and
the next begins by our group members, Umi, Teo, Jing, Munira and finally by the
Azlina.
After the interview session is complete, we divide the tasks according to the
criteria required in our task. We work in preparing this task. We are very pleased
because Mr.Wong still have time with our interview although he is a busy person..
With the acquisition of information from him, we can solve the task given by our
lecturer EC. We are very pleased and thankful that with all the information he
provided. We were finally able to complete this task.
