PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Army Training Team Leader - BAE Systems - (December 2009 - Present)
As the senior Army trainer I am responsible for all Counter - Improvised Explosi
ve Device (C-IED) training offered to Army units deploying to Iraq and Afghanist
an. This includes training analyst on a variety of computer applications design
ed to assist the commanders with planning for and executing attacks on enemy C-I
ED networks. I supervise 32 personnel ensuring the instruction they give is w
orld-class and completely up to date. I am responsible for the daily operations
of the C-IED teams located at five major combat training centers in the United
States and Europe. I am also responsible for briefing high level military and c
ivilian leaders on the capabilities of the training division within the Joint Co
unter-IED Operations and Integration Center (JTCOIC).
Senior Military Analyst - Cubic Applications Inc. - (July - December 2009)
As a senior operations expert, I designed and implemented staff training exercis
es to assess the readiness of senior military commands throughout the Department
of Defense. These multi-million dollar evaluation and training events raised t
he capability of deploying staffs by an estimated 30% allowing well trained staf
fs to deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Deputy Director - Joint Center for International Security Force Assistance (
2007 - June 2009)
As a senior Colonel in the US Army, I led the US Military Security Force Assista
nce program on behalf of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. I successfully
developed and implemented the US military programs designed to prepare US forces
for security capacity building missions with our allies especially those dealin
g with cross cultural competency. I built lasting relationships with the US int
eragency including the Department of State, Office of the Secretary of Defense,
and the US Agency for International Development. I successfully led a staff of
40 men and women from all four uniformed services with an annual budget of $1.6
million. I doubled the capacity of the center to provide assistance and service
s to the Department of Defense in less than two years.
Senior Advisor to the Iraqi Army - (2006-2007)
As the senior US military advisor to the Iraqi Ground Forces Command, I establis
hed an enduring relationship based on trust and confidence with senior Iraqi mil
itary leaders including the Minister of Defense and influential General Officers
. This relationship allowed the Iraqis to take charge of their army and paved t
he way for US force reductions. I expertly built the 30-person military advisin
g team recognized as the finest ever deployed to Iraq. I supervised the trainin
g and operational duties of 460 Iraqi Officers while successfully accomplishing
hundreds of daily tasks under adverse conditions. I successfully managed an ann
ual budget in excess of $40 million.
Chief of Staff - Joint Multinational Training Command - (2005-2006)
As the senior staff officer of this 150-member staff supporting a 3500-member co
mmand, I expertly managed and coordinated the administration, personnel, operati
ons, logistics, communications, and facility maintenance of the $1 billion train
ing center. I successfully executed a $50 million annual budget supporting the
education and training of 160,000 men and women at the premier US Army training
center in Germany. I saved the tax payers $4 million annually by improving busi
ness practices and instituting better operational controls and I reorganized the
headquarters staff to operate 40% more efficiently.
Commander, Warrior Preparation Center - (2003-2005)
As the commander of the US Army and Air Force premiere training simulation cente
r, I supervised 126 military staff and 150 contractors assigned to support the e
ducation and training of the US European Command and both NATO and non-NATO memb
er countries. I successfully executed a $26 million annual budget while restruct
uring numerous business practices. I established budget controls to save 30% in
expenditures while doubling the number of education and training events conduct
ed annually.
Inspector General - US Army Europe - (2001-2003)
As the senior Inspector General, I was responsible for all inspections, investig
ations, and customer support of the 150 Inspectors General throughout Europe. I
established and maintained the highest operational and training standards which
resulted in reducing customer complaints by 70% over a two year period. These
standards are still in use today. I reorganized operational procedures to doubl
e the number of inspections conducted annually and instituted senior officer tra
ining programs that reduced the number of investigations by 50%. I successfully
implemented an annual budget of $5 million and expertly managed facilities wort
h $15 million.
Division Chief - Joint Staff, The Pentagon - (1999-2001)
As the officer in charge of US military policy toward southeastern Europe, I bui
lt lasting cooperative relationships with numerous US governmental agencies incl
uding the Department of State, National Security Agency, and US Agency for Inter
national Development. I coordinated US Government policy on Bosnia and Kosovo a
nd developed the military programs responsible for preparing former Warsaw Pact
countries for entry into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). These p
rograms resulted in all three Baltic States, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic,
Hungary, and Poland joining the alliance.
