Professional Summary
My long career has been in the administrative field wherein I used all of the ge
neral skills required for positions in this field. With the exception of time o
ff for the births of my three children, I have been employed somewhere for most
of my adult life. After graduating from high school in 1959, I moved from a sma
ll town in southeastern Oklahoma to Dallas, Texas. After having a few business
college courses, I began working for the City of Dallas as a clerk-typist. In
1962 at age 21, I changed jobs and began my career with the U. S. Government, em
ployed by the agency U. S. Civil Service Commission. During the span of my care
er and as I advanced, I was employed by various agencies; and my retirement was
in 1991 from the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, back in southeastern Oklah
oma, where I was personal Secretary to the Research Leader. Dr. Wann supervised
several scientists in the field of agricultural research.
I moved to Enid to assist my divorced daughter with her four children while she
attends Northern Oklahoma College seeking a career in nursing. Although my prim
ary reason for being here is to help care for the children, they are all in scho
ol, and I have time to work during the day and on some week-ends. The money I c
ould earn would allow me to not only help her physically to reach her goal but t
o financially assist her as well. I would very much appreciate your considerati
on for employment.
Since retirement, I have worked at several part-time positions and still find th
at I am happier when I am working. I am 69 years of age; I am healthy, I am phy
sically fit; and I am still very qualified in the administrative field because I
have remained active over the years. I love meeting and helping people, and I
enjoy the challenge of learning new things.
I am confident that with my past work experience and good work ethics, I will be
able to adapt to any challenge, and I very much look forward to the opportunity
.
NOTE: Actual dates may vary but only slightly, as I don't have a record of the
exact dates of employment before me.
