A Special Word to Parents and Youth:

The beginning of summer means a lot of things to our youth ministry and we are excited that it is almost here. I want to let you
know that we have a lot of things planned for this summer even though it is a little shorter than normal due to the new school calendar.
I am excited to welcome Reid Craft as our full-time summer intern this summer. Reid loves the Lord, loves teenagers and actually
still speaks their “lingo” (as you will see when you read his letter!). Both Reid and I are committed to providing a quality program that
will not just entertain you, but will provide opportunities for spiritual growth. Please feel free to call on us at any time.
While each of our own children are the most important people in the church, it is our goal to provide a large variety of ministry
activities that will appeal to a variety of different youth, both in our church and those who need to be reached for the Lord. Our Youth
Mission Statement is “To accept Middle School and High School students where they are in their spiritual journey and provide oppor-
tunities for them to become fully devoted leaders for Christ.” Because each teenager is different, we are faced with providing different
ministry events to reach, teach, train and develop each teenager at the level that they are at right now in their life. It is not our goal to
make you feel like you have to attend every single activity, so don’t try to do it! Some activities probably just don’t “fit” who you are or
where you are at in your spiritual journey. A listing of the various ministry events are listed in the next section along with a brief descrip-
tion of what the purpose is for each one. Please take the opportunity to use the “fun” events as a tool to reach that teenager who might
not be ready to attend a Bible study yet. As this person interacts with other Christian teenagers and the message of Jesus Christ is seen in
their life, it is our prayer that they will accept Christ or be a step closer to accepting Christ.
As parents, we certainly want our children involved with fun, spiritually uplifting activities and making positive friendships as
much as possible. The youth ministry at EHBC is committed to making our ministry that kind of place and it is my hope that you as par-
ents will encourage your child’s attendance at the events that minister to them. While there are no perfect teenagers in our group, we
have a lot that are like me . . . forgiven. And together, we can make a difference for the Kingdom of God.
Serving Students,
Nicky

I am extremely excited to begin the summer as the youth intern! This something that I A
believe God has planned out to be wonderful for both myself and the ministry as a WORD
whole. The summer calendar is packed full of awesome opportunities to grow together FROM
as friends and believers, and I plan to be there alongside you guys every step of the THE
OTHER
way. From our weekly gatherings to our youth camp week, I pray that we all grow GUY...
closer together both as friends and as the body of Christ. I so look forward to becoming
close friends with all of you, and I am just extremely excited to begin!

Reid
