I was responsible for general patient care, transporting patients to and from the radiology exam room, cleaning room and equipment, and digital processing of images. 09/2005 - 10/2006 Marquette General Hospital Marquette, MI Radiology Technologist * My position at this facility entailed working in the ER as a midnight shift te ch with minimal supervision. I was responsible for general patient care, transpo rting patients to and from the radiology exam room, cleaning room and equipment, and digital processing of images. 06/2004 - 09/2005 St. Francis Hospital Escanaba, MI CT Technologist * Upon hiring at St.Francis, I was trained in CT imaging, and became proficient in not only basic head and abdomen studies, but also in pulmonary effusion and a ngio studies. I maintained my mammography certification, and also perform genera l diagnostic exams. 10/1999 - 05/2004 St. Joseph Mercy Health System Ypsilanti, MI Staff Mammographer * My position entailed performing physical and radiographic breast exams, assist ing with biopsy procedures, and informing patients when they need to return for additional imaging. I resigned from this position when my family and I relocated to the Upper Peninsula. 10/1996 - 04/1999 Henry Ford Health System Detroit, MI Staff Radiographer / Mammographer * My employment as a technologist at this facility entailed both general diagnos tic radiographic duties, and mammography duties - including assisting in biopsy procedures. I resigned from this position due to relocating away from the city. 01/1995 - 10/1996 Dr. Sherman Kay Southfield, MI Radiology Technologist * While employed at this private physicians office I performed general radiograp hs, EKG's, and assisted with the management of medical records. In October of 19 96, the physician retired and the office was closed. 04/1992 - 12/1994 Children's Hospital of Michigan Detroit, MI Staff Radiographer * My employment as a technologist at this facility began upon my completion of R adiology Technology training. I became proficient in the use of C-Arms, portable x-ray units, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, and conventional film radiograph y. The first two months I was employed here I spent much of my time in the E.R. where I gained valuable experience in trauma cases. I also spent three months wo rking within the busy Orthopedic department along side some of the finest pediat ric orthopedic specialists. I resigned from my position to accept a position tha t would allow me to expand into other aspects of radiology and adult medicine. I had a deaf friend in our church that encouraged me to attend the classes offered by Madonna University. While I did not aim to get a degree in in terpreting and am not a qualified interpreter, I am capable of communication wit h the deaf now at a level that eases their frustrations in new places, such as t he hospital, where they might otherwise not be understood, or comprehend what is being relayed to them. 10/1989 - 04/1990 Schoolcraft Community College Livonia, M I Science / Math * Having been out of school for several years, I made the decision to take some courses in science and math as refreshers before applying to the school of radio logy.
