Management

THE DOVE (IMH) PROGRAM (January 2010 - present), Graceville, Florida


SITE ADMINISTRATOR...oversees all operational functions of a 32 bed non-profit p
rogram for moderate-risk juvenile females with intensive mental health needs. Th
e Site Administrator is responsible for direct supervision of the Program Direct
or of this program as well as all site responsibilities for the Dove Academy.
THE DOVE ACADEMY (May 2006 - present), Graceville, Florida
PROGRAM DIRECTOR...oversees all operational functions of the State of Florida's
first vocational / residential program. The Dove Vocational Academy is a 50 bed
non-profit program for moderate-risk juvenile females. The Program Director over
sees a management team of mental health, medical and educational staff. The Prog
ram Director is also responsible for fiscal management, operations, state compli
ance policy with partnerships with Department of Juvenile Justice, State Court s
ystem, and local community organizations. This is the first commitment program
in Florida to use a direct application of the ACE study and research to promote
integrated trauma informed practices. The Dove Vocational Academy is also licens
ed with the Department of Children and Families as an Outpatient Substance Abuse
Program as well as being a CARF accredited residential program.
ASSOCIATED MARINE INSTITUTES (March 2005 -May 2006), Miami, Florida
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR...oversees all operational functions of a 30 bed non-profit p
rogram for moderate-risk juvenile females. Responsible for managing budget, part
nerships with Department of Juvenile Justice, partnership with program's Board o
f Directors, fund-raising/community relations and in delivering a gender respons
ive program and curriculum.
YOUTH SERVICES INTERNATIONAL (2004-March of 2005), Tallahassee, Florida
FACILITY ADMINISTRATOR....recruited to initiate A new contractual obligation wit
h the Department of Juvenile Justice, initiated start-up will all operational f
unctions of a 27 bed program for moderate-risk juvenile females. Responsible for
community partnerships in women and adolescent female organizations, managing p
rogram budget and Behavioral Health Overlay services and in delivering a gender
responsive program and curriculum.

ECKERD YOUTH ALTERNATIVES, INC. (2000-2004), Vernon, Florida


CENTER DIRECTOR...oversees all operational functions of a 40 bed program for hig
h-risk juvenile females. Responsible for a staff of fifty employees, managing pr
ogram budget and working within a liaison capacity in the community. This is a n

PROGRAM MANAGER....primary responsibility is in office operations supervising a
staff of an Offender Funded Intensive Home Arrest Program, case management super
vision, and running a successful professional alternative to incarceration progr
am, also responsible for business development, marketing, customer relations for
existing and new contracts, and maintaining an operational budget, additional a
spects of this position is in having an expertise in electronic monitoring (prod
ucts and use), acting as a liaison for both Superior and State Courts, and promo
ting Home Arrest alternatives to all related Criminal Justice agencies in the me
tro Atlanta area.

Corrections/Counseling
HENNEPIN COUNTY HOME SCHOOL (1988-1997), Minnetonka, Minnesota; a correctional f
acility for juveniles.
JUVENILE CORRECTIONAL OFFICER....supervised up to 24 violent male offenders, fem
ale offenders, and male sex offenders, conducted group and individual therapy, h
andled a variety of management/administrative responsibilities, .instrumental in
changing program policies, and directly supervised volunteer staff. Throughout
this employment there was a concentration in the Female Offender program.
HENNEPIN COUNTY JUVENILE COURT SERVICES (1987-1988), Minneapolis, Minnesota
SPECIAL PROGRAMS COUNSELOR/PROBATION OFFICER....supervised a work release case l
oad of up to 30 offenders a day on weekends, assisted a Probation Officer in the
handling of a restitution caseload, wrote/updated progress reviews, prepared/pr
esented recommendations regarding specific offenders in open court.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A state committee member of the Girls Forum through the Department of Juvenile J
ustice. Committee chair for state wide training initiatives.
Initiated the use of the ACE study and research to an application level with at
risk girls; the 'TLC' system and DOVE model in the State of Florida.
