Initial position for LifeCare Fort Worth and Dallas - Director of Managed Care -
responsible for assisting in the negotiating of managed care contracts for both
hospitals. Also negotiated out of network LOA's. Transitioned to Director of
Case Management and Managed Care for Fort Worth which supervised the case manage
ment department for 70 bed LTAC hospital. With the onset of PPS, the position e
volved to Financial Analyst/Utilization Management Director. Created and launch
ed "PPS Strategic Blueprint" program, a hospital wide strategic plan designed to
retool processes and successfully launch hospital into navigating the new prosp
ective payment system.
* Hospital achieved $2 million over budgeted goals in first fiscal year in PPS.
Created many of the analysis tools for DRG and Physician performance.
