■ 1.1 A FULLY WIRELESS ALARM SYSTEM
1 Introduction to the
Logisty alarm system Radio transmission between the various elements of the system ensures

1 maximum ease of installation.

The Dual-Frequency radio technology ensures ultra-reliable radio
transmission.
Battery power supply of all devices (including the alarm siren and the
control panel) removes any need for mains connection and therefore the
majority of causes of false alarms.

The Logisty system can be developed. If the user does not have all
the devices necessary for his protection immediately, he can have
them installed later without having to modify the existing system.

The Logisty alarm system ensures:

● Break-in protection:
- permanent monitoring of the home’s entrances and interior (intrusion
detection), alert triggering (alarm sirens, telephone dialers, control panel-
integrated siren) in the event of detection.
● Personal protection:
- alert triggering in the event of illness or aggression using the Prog. key
(if allocated to the Alert Call function) on the 4-key remote control or the
keypad.
- simple activation of the telephone dialer using the Prog. key (if
allocated to the Silent Alarm function)* on the 4-key remote control.
● 24 hour protection:
- fire detection: alert triggering (fire alarm sounds for 3 minutes)*.

DETECT:

Break-in detectors:

1 Break-in detectors monitor all entrances to the home and its interior.
In the event of detection, they immediately inform the control panel
by radio transmission.

● Perimeter detectors monitor access to the home:

- door/window detectors detect break-in attempts via protected doors
and windows. A glass-break sensor can be associated with these
detectors to detect glass breaking (windows, French windows, fanlights),
- audiosonic glass-break detectors detect break-in attempts by
breaking glass (windows, bay windows).
● Volumetric detectors (motion detectors) detect the infrared radiation
naturally emitted by a human body moving within their range. The area
protected by a motion detector is limited to the walls and the windows of
the room in which it is placed.

Fire detectors*:

Smoke detectors detect and inform of the presence of visible particle

smoke within the home at any time (24 hour protection)*.

CONTROL:

Remote controls:
● The 4-key remote control arms and disarms the control panel, from
both inside and outside the home.
It also ensures personal protection: pressing the Prog. key (allocated to
the Alert Call function) triggers all the alert means (control panel
integrated alarm, alarm sirens, telephone dialer interface) whether the
control panel is ON or OFF.
The Prog. key can be adapted to the needs of the user: Alert Call or
Silent Alarm (triggering of telephone dialer and keeping the sirens silent
for the ill or the infirm*) or Audible Signal (audible beeps on the control
panel), light, stay arm, automation.
● The 2-key remote control authorises total arming and disarming of
the alarm system (use not recommended if the control panel is
configured in the Group mode*).

In any case, simply pressing the OFF key on the remote control stops
the sirens and the telephone dialer in the alarm state (reaction time 1-
4 seconds).

Keypad:
The keypad ensures all the previous functions. Once the access code is
entered (press key then 4 figures), the alarm system can be armed
or disarmed.
The keypad enables the Alert Call to be triggered.

* L2303 only

6
PROCESS:

The control panel-integrated siren receives the radio signals emitted

by all the detectors, remote controls and keypads. It has an integrated
siren. The control panel triggers its integrated siren and the other means
of alert (alarm sirens, telephone dialer interface) in the event of break-in
1
detection, fire detection* or Alert Call.
Reception of arm or disarm orders from the remote control or keypad is
confirmed by light indicators and audible signals.

Audible signals and light indicators of the front panel indicate events
occurring in the absence of the user and, when necessary, the need
to change the detector or control panel batteries.
It ensures intrusion protection, personal protection, fire protection* and
precise indication of the alarm origin.

DETER:

Sirens:
● The siren integrated in the control panel panics the intruder.
● The alarm siren alerts the neighbourhood when it sounds (104 dB) in
the event of intrusion detection, fire detection* (in which case the fire
alarm sounds for 3 minutes) or the Alert Call. Its flashing light also
enables the neighbourhood to quickly identify the source of the alarm to
ensure rapid intervention.

The siren is activated immediately in the event of an Alert Call, fire*

or triggering of the tamper-proof function. It should be delayed by
10 seconds for intrusion detection to allow the user to avoid disturbing
the neighbourhood if (s)he forgets to switch off the system when entering
the home. The siren is re-activated if a detector is triggered again.

The intruder flees and is exposed to neighbourhood or police

intervention.

ALERT AND ACT:

A local telephone dialer can be connected with the central unit

L2301/L2303 or with our separate dialer interface (L2511) to alert
friends or relatives (voice messages) or a surveillance centre (digital
messages) of an occurrence in the home (break-in, fire*, Alert Call,...).

■ 1.2 A MULTI-GROUP ALARM SYSTEM
The Logisty multi-group alarm system enables you to choose between

1 two operation modes:

- presence in one part of the home (e.g. first floor) while maintaining
intrusion protection in the other part (e.g. ground floor, garage):
Partial/Complete mode.
- presence in Group 1&2 (e.g. first floor) while maintaining intrusion
protection in Group 3&4 (e.g. ground floor, garage) or vice versa,
presence in Group 3&4 while maintaining intrusion protection in Group
1&2: Group mode*.
Obviously these two modes enable total monitoring of the home.

NB: personal and fire* detection are maintained round the clock whether
the intrusion protection is ON or OFF.

Partial/Complete mode
● The Partial/G1&2 key on the remote control or keypad enables
application of the intrusion protection for just one part of the home. The
other part can be occupied without risk of triggering the alarm system.
The area under active protection of the Logisty system can include one
or more rooms which are not necessarily next to one another.
● The On/G3&4 key on the remote control or keypad enables application
of intrusion protection to the whole home.
● The Off key on the remote control or keypad removes intrusion
protection in the home.

Example:
Partial/G1&2 key
intrusion protection on the ground floor and garage, you can move freely
on the first floor without triggering the alarm system.

On/G3&4 key
intrusion protection in the whole house.

Off key
removes intrusion protection in the house.

Allocation of a detector in Partial or Complete Operation is

accomplished when a detector is allocated to a Group.

* L2303 only

8
Group mode*
● The Partial/G1&2 key on the remote control or keypad puts Group 1&2
under intrusion protection. These groups can include several rooms
which are not necessarily next to one another.
● The On/G3&4 key on the remote control or keypad puts Group 3&4
under intrusion protection. These groups can include several rooms
1
which are not necessarily next to one another.
● To apply intrusion protection to the whole of the home (Group
1&2&3&4) the order Partial/G1&2 then On/G3&4 should be sent, or vice
versa.
● The Off button on the remote control or keypad removes intrusion
protection in the home.

Example:
Partial/G1&2 key
(activates Group 1&2 Operation if the system was previously off)
intrusion protection in the ground floor and garage, you can move freely
on the first floor without triggering the alarm system.

On/G3&4 key

Off key
removes intrusion protection in the home.

Allocation of a detector in Group 1&2 Operation or Group 3&4

Operation is accomplished when a detector is allocated to a Group.

9
Allocating a detector to a Group:
Each intrusion detector must be allocated to a group (Group 1, Group 2,
Group 3 or Group 4).

1 ● Detectors allocated to Groups 1 and 3 immediately trigger the means

of alert.
● Detectors allocated to Groups 2 and 4 trigger the means of alert either
immediately or after a delay of 20 seconds (depending on the
configuration of the control panel).
Thus, to disarm the intrusion protection using the keypad inside the
home without triggering the means of alert, a delayed trigger detector
should be placed in the hall.
The table below summarises the possibilities of allocating a detector to a
Group.

■ 1.3 A DUAL-FREQUENCY ULTRA-RELIABLE ALARM
SYSTEM
The alarm system integrates Logisty’s latest technological developments
in terms of security and reliability.
With the new Dual-Frequency radio technology, the Logisty alarm
system has two major advantages:
1
● ultra-reliable radio transmission:
For each Dual-Frequency transmission, the information is coded then
transmitted simultaneously on two different radio frequencies.
● tamper proof radio transmission:
The Dual-Frequency system has been developed to overcome present
and future disturbance and to resist against possible surreptitious attacks.
In the event of an attempt to overcome the device by simultaneous
jamming of the two frequencies, its response is very rapid. As soon as
jamming stops on one of the frequencies, transmission becomes
possible once again.
This double security ensures the outstanding reliability of the alarm
system.
The two antennas on the control panel or the sirens are the most obvious
symbol of the Dual-Frequency technology. However, even if the
antennas are not visible, the motion detectors, door/window detectors,
audiosonic glass-break detectors, smoke detectors*, keypads, also use
the Dual-Frequency technology.

■ 1.4 A TAMPER PROOF ALARM SYSTEM

The devices of the Logisty system are constantly protected (24 hours
whether the control panel is armed or not) against surreptitious attacks.
These tamper proof functions trigger the means of alert if there is an
attempt to tear the product off its support, to open a product without
autority or any other malicious act. Respect the installation conditions to
prevent unwanted triggering of the tamper proof functions.
● Detectors:
All the detectors (except the smoke detector*) are tamper-proofed
against opening attempts. If anyone tries to open the casing, the means
of alert are triggered.
● Keypad:
The keypad is tamper-proofed. Once fixed to the wall, any attempt to
remove or open the keypad triggers the means of alert.
● Control panel:
The control panel is tamper-proofed against any attempt to open, remove
or cut off the antennas. In the event of attack, the means of alert are
triggered.
● Radio jamming detection:
The ultra-reliable Dual-Frequency radio transmission ensures
maximum reliability of radio connections.
The radio tamper-proof function triggers an alarm in the event of
simultaneous jamming of both frequencies. As soon as one channel is no
longer jammed, the transmission is re-established.

11
■ 1.5 A CONFIGURABLE ALARM SYSTEM
You can adapt the protection to suit the user’s needs using the

1 operating parameters of the control panel.

Parameters are set on installation of the control panel by positioning
the microswitches. The parameters can be changed at any time.

Parameter 1: Entry route instant or delayed sirens. If a detector allocated

to Group 2 or 4 is triggered, the means of alert can be selected to be
operated immediately or after a delay of 20 seconds.

Parameter 2**: Silent integrated siren. In the event of a break-in being

detected the integrated control panel siren can be selected to be silent
so as not to identify the location of the control panel to the intruder.
Other means of alert remain active.

Parameter 3**: Delayed integrated siren. In the event of a break-in,

the integrated siren can be delayed for 1 minute. Other means of alert
remain instant.

Parameter 4: Audible annunciation sound level: Selection of amplitude

of signals from the control panel when it is switched On or Off. This has
no effect on the loudness of the integrated siren in the event of an alarm.

Parameter 5: Radio jamming detection

Parameter 6: Selection of Partial or Group mode: The control panel

can be selected to operate in either mode*.

Parameter 7: Exit Route Audible Tone: The control panel can be

selected to sound an exit tone every 2 seconds during the exit period
time delay of 90 seconds.

Parameter 8: Entry Route audible tone: The control panel can be

selected to sound a tone every 1 second during the entry delay period
of 20 seconds, as long as the entry time delay option (see Parameter 1
above) has been selected to 20 second delay.
Note: Each detector on the entry route MUST be allocated to either
Group 2 or 4, delayed triggering.

** In the event of an Alert Call, tamper detection triggering or fire detection*, the means
of alert are always triggered immediately.

Examples:
● If you have chosen to install the keypad inside the protected area and
installed a delayed trigger detector (allocated to Group 2 or 4) in the entry
route Parameter 1 allows you to programme a 20 second delay between
activation of the detector and the triggering of the means of alert. This
enables the user to disarm the system by entering their access code into
the keypad and pressing “OFF”, having entered the protected area via
the designated Entry route, or by pressing the OFF button on their
Remote Control unit.
● Selection of Parameter 8 will provide a repetitive warning tone (Entry
Tone), a beep every 2 seconds, to remind the user to disarm their
system, once they have entered a designated entry route when the
alarm system is armed.

This chapter aims to prepare the system before the coding stage.
3 Prepare and test the
Logisty alarm system You will need:
● a flat screwdriver (4 mm),
● a coin.
We recommend testing first the remote controls and the keypad, then the
control panel and finally the detectors.
Consult the specific instructions for all other devices.
Batteries are delivered with each device. Follow the battery insertion
instructions for each device.
The devices are designed to avoid handling errors and battery
inversions.
Note: we do not recommend the simple On/Off remote control for use
with a system set up for “Group” operation as the “On” button will only
operate Groupe 3+4*.

6. Close the flap.

7. Do not replace the wall fixing plate on the control panel.

Turn the control panel around to access the front.
The control panel is still in the “test” mode.
You can now test the system without triggering the integrated siren
(110 dB). As the wall fixing plate is not in position, the removal tamper-
proof function will not be triggered.
The control panel will respond to the radio information received from the
remote controls, the keypad and the detectors by emitting audible
signals, and light indicators will come on.
In the “test” mode, all radio signals, even very brief, are reproduced by
the control panel’s loudspeaker. Do not be surprised to hear static noise -
ignore this radio “listen-in” function for the time being, it will be useful later
when you determine the best position for the control panel.
NB: once the control panel is in the normal operation mode (fixed to the

3 wall on its plate), it will no longer generate static noise.

8. Using a remote control, press any key. The control panel will
respond with a series of two-tone signals: “beeep-bip, beeep-bip, beeep-

The control panel also indicates the consideration of an order sent by the
remote control by making the relevant light indicator(s) flash:

OK. The initially programmed group is kept. Repeat the group
programming operation from the beginning.

5. Testing the chosen group

Press and hold down the detector's test key for roughly 7 seconds until
the test indicator light goes out. It will then flash 1 to 4 times according to
the programmed group. For example, the test indicator light will flash

3
3 times if group 3 is programmed. If the detector does not react as you
expect, reprogramme the chosen group.
You have assigned your detector its chosen group. If you wish to change
this group at any stage you must programme the group and sensitivity
programming operation.

6. Close the casing of the detector by inserting the lower pin and turning
the rear panel until it clicks into place.

7. Press the “test” button on the detector. The red light comes on and
the detector is in the test mode for 1 minute and 30 seconds. The control
panel responds with a series of two-tone audible signals: “Beeep-bip,
beeep-bip, beeep-bip, ...” and the specific light indicator corresponding to
the Group allocated comes on.
The motion detector is communicating correctly with the control panel.

8. Test the detection. After pressing “test”, you can test motion
detection for 1 minute and 30 seconds by moving your hand in front of
the detection lens: the red light comes on. After this period, the
detector returns to normal operating mode and the light no longer
comes on upon detection.

This chapter aims to help you fix the alarm system in the home.
5 Fixing the Logisty
alarm system You will need:
● a flat screwdriver (4 mm)
● a cross head screwdriver (3 or 4 mm)
● a drill with a 6 mm bit
Warning: take care in choosing the position of the devices, respecting
the recommendations in chapter 2 “Where to install the Logisty alarm
system?”.
First, you will fix the control panel in the test mode, then the keypad, then
the detectors.

4. Briefly press the test button on the detector to put it into the test mode.
The red light comes on when you press and the detector sends a radio
signal to the control panel. The control panel responds with a series of
two-tone audible signals: “Beeep-bip, Beeep-bip, Beeep-bip,...” and the
associated light comes on.
Check that you have allocated the detector to the right Group (see
chapter 3.4).
NB: if the control panel responds with a single tone signal “Bip, bip,
bip,...” instead of the usual message, and the light does not come on, the
radio transmission between the detector and the control panel is not
functioning. In this case, change the position of the detector so that
transmission functions.

5. After pressing the test button, you can test the motion detector for
1 minute and 30 seconds. After this period, the detector returns to
the normal operating mode and the light does not come on upon
detection. After detecting a movement, and sending the signal to
the control panel, the detector will not send another radio signal for
1 minute 30 seconds.
5
6. Pass once or twice in front of the detector: the red light comes on to
indicate detection, the detector sends a radio signal to the control panel
which replies with an audible signal: “Beeep-bip, Beeep-bip, Beeep-
bip,...” and the corresponding light comes on. Alter the orientation of the
detector if necessary.

7. After orienting the detector, open the detector casing and block the ball
joint, without forcing.
The control panel is in the test mode and therefore will not trigger the
integrated siren on detection of the tamper proof function when you open
the detector. Close the detector again.
The motion detector is fixed and in operation. Repeat this procedure for
the other detectors.
The control panel will be permanently fixed after checking all the radio
connections with the system’s different detectors and the keypad.

procedure for the other detectors.

7. You can test the door/window detector for 1 minute and 30 seconds
after pressing the test button. After this period, the detector returns to
the normal operating mode and the light does not come on upon
detection. After detecting a door/window break-in, and sending the
signal to the control panel, the detector will not send another radio
signal for 1 minute 30 seconds.
The door/window detector is fixed and in operation. Repeat this
procedure for the other detectors.

FIXING THE ASSOCIATED GLASS-BREAK SENSOR
1. Fix the glass-break sensor in one of the corners of the window,
roughly 2.5 cm from the corner, using the double-sided tape supplied.
Ideally, the sensor should be fixed to a clean, dry window at a
temperature between 21 and 38°C. Press the glass-break sensor firmly

2. Test the detector:

Press the test button on the detector to put it into the test mode.
Knock on the window 30 cm from the corner opposite the glass-break
sensor with the handle of a large screwdriver:
● the red light comes on to indicate detection,
● the detector sends a radio signal to the control panel which replies with
an audible signal: “Beeep-bip, Beeep-bip, Beeep-bip,...”.
● the red light goes out.

3. You can test the door/window or glass-break detector for 1 minute and
30 seconds after pressing the test button. After this period, the
detector returns to the normal operating mode and the light does
not come on upon detection. The detector will not send another
radio signal to the control panel for 1 minute 30 seconds.

The door/window (and glass-break) detector is fixed and in operation.

Repeat this procedure for the other door/window (and glass-break)
detectors.

The batteries supplied with all Logisty devices have an average lifetime
7 Changing the batteries
in the Logisty alarm of over three years under normal operating conditions. Each device has a
system battery check and a power reserve of approximately one week after the
first indication that the battery needs to be changed.
The control panel checks the state of its own battery and those of the
break-in detectors. After receiving an ON order from the remote control
or keypad, the control panel informs of low battery power:
● a broken audible signal “bip, bip, .... bip, bip, ....” follows the control
panel armed signal,
● if the “Batteries” light indicator on the front panel comes on for 10
seconds, the control panel’s battery is low,
● if the “Batteries” light indicator and a Group’s (1, 2, 3 or 4) light
indicator flash, the battery of one or more of the break-in detectors of that
Group is low,
● if the “Batteries” light indicator and the “Fire” light indicator flash, the
battery of one or more smoke detectors is low.*

Each detector also has a test button and a battery state light indicator.
To identify the detector(s) concerned, press the test button of each
detector.
If the test light indicator comes on, the battery is all right; if it doesn’t,
the battery is low.

Before returning a device that is assumed to be defective, check that its

battery is not just out of order. The devices are to be supplied by lithium-
manganese batteries only (according to Logisty recommendations).
Logisty devices are not guaranteed if zinc-carbon batteries or external
power supplies are used.

CONTROL PANEL:
The control panel automatically checks the state of its battery. It indicates
that the battery needs changing approximately one week before the
battery is completely dead.
Follow these instructions to change the battery:
1. Put the control panel in the test mode:
Before carrying out any of the operations described, read through the
whole of this text, to prevent triggering the means of alert.
Unscrew the control panel’s set screw. Take the remote control, or
otherwise ask the user to stay near the keypad. Stay next to the control
panel with a flat screwdriver to be able to remove it from its fixing plate.

2. Press the OFF key on the remote control or ask the user to type
on the keypad. The control panel responds
with an audible signal “Beeeep....”. Remove the control panel from its
7
fixing plate during the audible signal “Beeeep...” by pushing the locking
pin with the screwdriver and gently pulling the control panel towards you,
lifting it slightly. If the alarm goes off, press the OFF key on the remote
control for 4 seconds, without forcing, or ask the user to type the OFF
order on the keypad. Any alarm bell will stop after three seconds. The
dismounted control panel will pass to the test mode after receiving an
* L2303 only OFF order.

45
3. The dismounted control panel is now in the test mode.

4. Remove the battery from the control panel and wait 2 minutes before
connecting the new battery. Carry out the operations described in
chapter 3.3.

5. Replace the control panel on its fixing plate and check that the locking
pin is correctly in place. The control panel switches from the test mode to
the normal operating mode. Screw the control panel’s set screw back into
position.
The system is now ready to operate once again.

DETECTORS:
Automatic check of battery state:
The control panel memorises the state of the detector batteries and
indicates any problem when the system is armed.
Manual test:
You can test the state of a detector battery by pressing the detector test
button. If the light indicator does not come on, the battery needs
changing.
Change the battery as follows:
1. To avoid triggering an alarm when you open the detector (which is
tamper-proofed against opening) press OFF on the remote control or ask
the user to type the OFF order on the keypad. The control panel
responds with a continuous audible signal “Beeeep....”. Open the
detector during the audible signal “Beeeep...”. If the alarm goes off,
press the OFF key on the remote control, without forcing, or ask the user
to type the OFF order on the keypad. Any alarm bell will stop after three
seconds.

2. Remove the battery and wait 2 minutes before connecting the new
battery (see chapter 3.4 and 3.5).

3. Now close the detector. Check that it is working properly by pressing

the test button: the red light should come on.
The system is now ready to operate once again.

REMOTE CONTROLS
When the red light on the remote control becomes weak, all the batteries
of the remote control should be changed. The remote control
programming is retained while the batteries are changed.

7 KEYPAD
When the red light on the keypad becomes weak, its battery should be
changed. The new battery should be connected in less than one minute
to avoid losing the keypad programming.
