Dear INCCP COHORT # 2 Colleagues,

We are thrilled that you are joining us as Cohort #2 for the Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate
Program (INCCP). It will be so exciting to meet each of you as we journey together and weave
the rich tapestry of integral, holistic and integrative nurse coaching, and healing. Exploring
integrative nurse coaching knowledge and skills, lifestyle and preventive health strategies,
optimal utilization of healing modalities, and coaching in management of chronic medical issues
is at the forefront of healthcare reform leading to a healthy nation and a healthy world.

Our INCCP focuses on two areas: Nurse Self-Development (self-reflection, self-assessment, self-
care), and Client Self-Development. As we explore wholeness and our unique position as
integrative nurse coaches, we serve as connectors to bridge to the emerging paradigm of
integrative healthcare reform and wellness—local to global. Our focus will be new knowledge in
integrative practice and health coaching that includes healthy lifestyles and balance, and many
preventive healthcare measures.

INTEGRATIVE NURSE COACH CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program (INCCP) philosophy and framework
includes the American Holistic Nurses Association & American Nurses Association
© 2010 Integrative Nurse Coach Certificate Program (INCCP) 2
Holistic Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice (AHNA & ANA, 2007); Florence
Nightingale’s legacy for 21st century nursing (Dossey, 2010; Dossey et al. 2005); the
Vulnerability Model (Schaub & Schaub, 1997); the Integrative Functional Health Model;
and the Theory of Integral Nursing (Dossey, 2008). (Note: The Theory of Integral Nursing
does not negate other nurse theorists and their theories).

PHILOSOPHY OF LEARNING
The INCCP is a discovery model of learning that acknowledges the inherent wisdom
within each person. Participants will engage in learning opportunities through reflective
and experiential practices, discussion and skill-building activities, rather than relying on
all lecture formats.

WELLNESS INVENTORY

The Wellness Inventory (Travis, 1975, 2004) has been developed over 35 years and is
one of the most recognized wellness assessment tools that can track an individual’s
progress and desired changes for a more balanced and healthy life.

INCCP has partnered with HealthWorld Online. During the INCCP you will have a guest
subscription to complete the Wellness Inventory and to receive your Wellness Inventory
Scores, Satisfaction Scores, Understanding Your Strengths, and an opportunity to create
your Personal Wellness Action Plan. HealthWorld Online will send you via e-mail guest
instructions on how you access the website in the next few days.

This is a very robust Wellness Inventory and website with many features to access across
the INCCP sessions. Before the end of the INCCP you will again complete another
Wellness Inventory to compare the two sets of scores before and after the program.

This process will assist you in coaching clients in any setting. It will also be of value in
establishing a Coaching Agreement with each client and how to determine realistic action
steps and progress.

COMPLETING THE WELLNESS INVENTORY

We recommend that you approach the Wellness Inventory with a spirit of exploration and

discovery. The value of the assessment is in its ability to stimulate new awareness of
possibilities for change in your life while assessing your current level of wellness:
• Allow 30-45 minutes to complete the assessment.
• If you are unable to complete it in one sitting, save your results and finish later.
• After completing the Wellness Inventory you will view your Wellness Score,
Satisfaction Score, and Understanding My Strengths.
• Access other tools, including My Wellness Journal, the Self-Study Center, and 12
Wellness Resource Centers, to support you in successfully completing your
wellness action steps (these tools can be accessed via My Wellness Homepage, or
via direct links contained in the wellness plan email reminder).

CREATING YOUR PERSONAL WELLNESS ACTION PLAN

The next step in the program is to create a Personal Wellness Action Plan consisting of
1-5 simple wellness action steps. You can create your personal wellness action steps after
completing the assessment, or you can log back in at a later time. This is at the heart of
the Wellness Inventory.
• Use the online guide, "Tips for Effective Action Steps", to support you in creating
simple, realistic, and attainable action steps.
• Select the frequency at which you would like to receive your action steps as a regular
email reminder.
• Access other tools, including My Wellness Journal, the Self-Study Center, and 12
Wellness Resource Centers, to support you in successfully completing your
wellness action steps.
• We encourage you to regularly update your wellness action steps throughout the
INCCP and to reflect on the areas of your life you want to change or improve
leading to higher levels of health and wellness.

ACCESSING THE PROGRAM FOR ONGOING LIFESTYLE CHANGE

For future access to the Wellness Inventory, save your Group Name (IntegrativeNurse),
password, and log-in address (www.MyWellnessTest.com). You can access the program
anytime during the INCCP. You can take the assessment two times during the INCCP,

with no limit to use of the other website features.
