Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

Vision

The vision of the ECE Department is to

become a nationally and internationally leading
institution of higher learning, Building upon the
culture and the values of universal science and
contemporary education, and a center of research
and education generating the knowledge and the
technologies which lay the ground work in shaping
the future in the fields of Electronics and
Communication engineering.
We aspire to be a new model for
engineering education that is committed to the ideals
of excellence and access.
To develop the department as a center of
excellence in Electronics and Communication
engineering and to make the student’s blossom into
meritorious and self disciplined engineers by hard
work, so that they are useful to the society at large,
to which they are objected.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

MISSION

The aim of the course is to turn out full-fledged

Engineers in the field of Electronics Communication
Engineering. with an overall back-ground suitable for
making a successful career either in
industry/research or higher education in India and
abroad.
Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

About Department

• The Department of Electronics &

Communication Engineering was established
in the year 2008 along with an intake of 60
students in the B.Tech degree, the intake
was enhanced to 120 in the year 2009.

Ever since its inception, the

department has been imparting theoretical and
practical oriented coaching including the
emerging trends and developments in
Technology, to the students so that they are
well equipped with the required knowledge
inline with the expectations of the industry.

The department has highly qualified

and experienced faculty members. The
department has good infrastructural facilitates
and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories.
The department also has audio-visual facilities
with one LCD and OHP's for effective teaching.
The staff members are deputed to participate in
workshops, conferences, symposia and refresher
courses to keep in pace with recent
developments in the field of Electronics &
Communications Engineering.

Students of our department actively

participate in National-level Student Paper
Contests being organized at IIT's, NIT's and
various other Engineering Colleges. Some of
them have also been awarded in these paper
contests.

As a part of the curriculum, Industrial visits are

arranged for students of B.Tech. III-(ECE) in I
Semester.

The Department is rated as one of the

best departments in the Private Sector and is
attracting top rankers in EAMCET. The
Department has been organizing Technical
Symposium in the year 2010. The Department is
aiming at bringing out a technical - conscious
student community and realizing the objectives
of Vision 2020.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

 To impart good technical knowledge to the

students.

 To fulfill the needs of the society in the various

fields related to Electronics & Communication

engineering.

 To organize training programs / workshops for

upgrading staff performance.

 To establish Industry-Institute Interaction.

 To publish technical papers in National/

International journals.

New initiatives are being taken to improve

academic performance of students. Efforts are being

put to increase the percentage of first classes and

distinctions and hence placements.

Laboratories

Electronic Devices and Circuits Laboratory

The Electronic Circuits laboratory is designed to enable students
to comprehend main characteristics of simple electronic devices
such as diodes and transistors. The laboratory session is
synchronized with the lecture in such a way that they complement
each other. Items in the lab manual include introducing the circuit
simulator SPICE and its usage to carry out DC, AC & transient
analysis. Practical circuits are built to investigate signal & Zener
diode circuits, bipolar transistor circuits under DC and AC
conditions as well as small signal amplifiers. Filters and oscillators
using discrete components are built.

Network Theory and Electrical Engineering Laboratory

Network Theory laboratory is one of the important lab of school

of Electronic. This laboratory would enable students to understand
the basic principles of electrical engineering. It enables the
students to use testing and measuring instruments such as
function generators, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters to
analyze a DC circuit by using different analysis techniques. These
include Ohm’s Law, KCL, KVL, nodal analysis, mesh analysis,
Thevenin’s and Norton’s theorems as well as the transient analysis
of RL, RC circuits and RLC circuits.

Analog & Digital Communications Laboratory

The communications laboratory helps the students to
understand the basic principles of communication systems by
practical module systems. This laboratory includes experiments
both in analog communication and digital communication. The
experiments are designed in such a way that the theoretical
concepts introduced in lectures are re-discussed and implemented
a practically. The experiments deal with the analog communication
basics such as Filtering, amplitude modulation, super heterodyne
receiver, frequency division multiplexing, frequency modulation,
phase locked loop, pulse analog modulation, pulse code
modulation, signal to noise ratio, and signaling techniques: PSK,
FSK, DPSK, QPSK, and MSK.

IC Applications/E-CAD Laboratory

The IC applications/E-CAD laboratory is designed to enable

students to understand the functioning of Operational Amplifiers,
some important FPGA Kits, ICs IC741, IC 555 etc. Circuits
employing the op amps as the active element are constructed to
perform as amplifiers, integrators, filters, relaxation and sinusoidal
oscillators.
Microprocessors and Interfacing Laboratory

The microprocessor and Interfacing laboratory is

equipped with sophisticated state-of-art tools for teaching and
experimentation in the area of microprocessors. This laboratory
will provide the students a perfect introduction to the world of
Microprocessors and to provide hands-on experience essential to
the real understanding of microprocessors architecture and it’s
interfacing to the peripheral devices. The experiments are
designed to provide the students with the design principles of
microprocessor systems and real time programming. Also students
use the facilities in this laboratory for the realization of their mini-
projects and course project work. The course accomplishes this by
using microprocessor kits, simulators and software development
systems.

Microwave & Optical Communication Laboratory

Microwave and optical communication lab design to get

knowledge in signal processing in microwave frequency and it
gives idea to know the properties of various Microwave devices &
Componenets and to study the characteristics of Optical Source
and Techniques involved....

Digital Signal Processing Laboratory

The main objective of this lab is to motivate the students to

familiarize with Programming of Convolution & Circular
Convolution & correlation and to familiarize with DSP
Architecture.....
