GSAT-8 to be launched on May 21


CHENNAI, May 17: Indias Communication Satellite GSAT-8 will be launched on May 21 by the Ariane Space Vehicle from Kourou in French Guyana. The launch, which was earlier scheduled for May 20, was deferred by a day due to certain additional inspection that has been taken up by the launch agency, Ariane Space. An Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) release here today said the launch of GSAT-8, Indias advanced communication satellite, is now scheduled on May 21 at 0208 hrs (IST) from Kourou. All the pre-launch activities are progressing satisfactorily, the release said.(UNI)

In case the amount of work works out on the basis of rates quoted by the contractor is less by 15% than the advertised amount, the contractor shall have to produce extra 5% C.D.R. before considering the contract in his favour. 8. The department shall deduct the 1% cess on the cost of construction and deposit the same with the J&K Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board (Labour Department) under the provision of law in order to avoid any legal proceedings. 9. Qualification Criteria: The tender should have minimum financial turn over of 40% of the advertised amount in any one year in past five years. The tenderer shall have also completed/substantially completed one work of similar nature 1/5th of advertised amount as a prime contractor in any one year in last five years. 10.Certiicate in respect of financial turn over and similar nature of the work in all cases should be issued not less than the rank of Executive Engineer. 11.The tenderer should write their Rate in words and figures, in case of difference in Rates, Rate in word shall be considered. 12.Tenderer should cover their quoted rates with Cello tape. 13.The defect liability period of the work shall be 12 months from the date of completion of the work

*The Scheme is to develop the skills of youth of the State of Jammu and Kashmir under Modular Employable Skills for the gainful employment. 8000 youth are proposed to be trained in the year 2011-12. * Out of the 8000 target of trainees for the year, 2000 (25%) youth are proposed to be trained in the state of J&K and the balance 6000 (75%) youth are proposed to be trained by various Vocational Training providers (VTPs) registered under the Skill Development Initiative Scheme of DGET throughout the country. *Training for 2000 youth will be conducted by VTPs registered under the Skill Development intiative Scheme of DGET in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. *They will undergo training in modules & sectors identified by the State Government having employment potential in the state. * For training the remaining 6000 trainees, DGET will identify VTPs registered under the Skill Development Initiative Scheme of DGET who can conduct courses in the trades/sectors identified by the Government of J & K which will have tangible employment potential in the State. * Financial assistance to VTP: The registered VTPs will be provided with the training cost as per SDl Scheme based on Modular Employable Skills. . * Assessment fee will be borne by DGET, Assessment fee will be as per the SDI scheme based on Modular Employable Skills. * Trainees under the Scheme will not be required to pay training fee to the VTP and assessment fee to the assessing bodies. * Trainees will be provided with boarding and lodging and travel expenses if they are required to stay away from their homes either within state or outside state. The trainees will be provided with lodging at a rate of Rs.501- per day and boarding at a rate of Rs.150/- per day.
