1.3 UserEnrollment ForthesameIDnumber,uptotendifferentfingerprintabilitytobeenrolled,thus theusermayownmuchmoreverificationway. Ideally, every finger on each hand should be enrolled, so that if a enrolled fingerisinjured,toalternatethebackupfingerisavailable,innormalcondition,it isbetterthatlasttwofingerisenrolled,like,leftorrightindexfinger,sotheuser abilitytousehis(her)anyfingertoidentifyandkeepawaythetroublesisdueto he(she)forgetswhichfingerhasbeenenrolled.

1.4 UserIdentification/Verification WhenausereitherinputanIDnumberorplacesafingerinthefingerprintsensor, theninputpasswordorpressfingerprint,throughcomparingscannedusersfinger against the stored fingerprint template, which is used to identify user staus. The US100enrolledusercanusethefingerprintattendanceinhisU100,andthewhole attendanceprocessisabout2seconds.Theworkingprocessistoidentify.System

1.5 Threshold The Threshold establishes a balance between False Acceptance Rate (FAR) and FalseRejectionRate(FRR).FARmeansthemachineidentifysuserAsfingerprint as user Bs fingerprint. FRR means the machine rejects to identify the enrolled fingerprint. You can set the threshold to all users. For a user whos the fingerprint verificationis difficult, you can adopt ID & Fingerprint verification (match oneto one).Thensystemwilladoptthesetdatain1:1matchthresholdduingidentifying. For a user whose finger is worn orinjured,thethreshold shouldbereduced. (Pleasereferto Table11) Notice: FAR and FRR affect each other, if increase FAR then reduce FRR, viceversa.ThedefaultThresholdis35,1:1matchingThresholdis15. 1.6 Users IDNumbers Before beginning enrollment, a user is assigned an unused ID Number. This ID number is used to call up the fingerprint template or password each time that

verificationisrequested. IDnumbersarenormallyinputtedviathesmallkeypad,buttheycanalsobe inputtedbytheothermeanssuchasRFCard(theconditionisthatthereisRFcard reader module inthemachine)

1.7 PrivilegeLevels TheUS100 hasfour privilege levels: l l l l Users: arepeoplewhoseidentitymustbeverified,suchtogainaccessto afacilityortohavetheirattendancerecorded. Enrollers:areuserswhoareauthorizedtoenrollnewusersordeleteon tothesystem. Managers:can do other operations,exceptsettingadvanced option and enrolling managersprivilege. Supervisors:areuserswhocanaccessallfunctionsandchangeallsetup inthesystem. Explanation: if there is no supervisor in the system, the enroller can enroll administratorsandsupervisors.Inthesame way, only whenthereisno supervisorinthe system, canthe manager enrollsupervisors. Once there is a supervisor, the lower level managerscantenrollthehigherlevelsupervisors.

2.EnrollmentandIdentification Thischapterdescribeshowtoenroll users inUS100.Inaddition, stillintroducehow toidentify thevalidity offingerprint enrollment. Notice: if want to enroll users, you must be enroller, manager, or supervior. Thedetailed,pleasereferto1.7PrivelegeLevel.

2.1 EnrollingUsers If there is no enrolled manager, everyone will become an enroller, if there is a managerinthesystem,youshould be identifiedbyamanagertoenrollanewuser. Tostartenrollingusers,ifthereisanenrolledmanager,itisamusttoidentify the manager status press [Menu], the machine will prompt the manager confirmation, then pressfingerprintorinputpasswordtoidentify. Notice: If there is no enrolled manager, you will not be prompted for verification. 2.1.1 Fingerprint Enrollment 1 Enterinto MENU UserManage EnrollUser.SelectEnrollFingerprintand pressOKkeytoenterintothewindowasshownbelow:

Card(Create PIN card): utilize registered user in US100 to createPINcard.Usermayusethecardtoidentifyhimself,anddontplacethe finger. 2.Enrollfingerprintintocard(EnrollFPcard):directlystorethefingerprint thathasbeenregisteredintocard,atthistimethereisafingerprintinthecard, andthatdoesnotexistinthemachine.UsermayuseCard+Fingerprintto identifyhimself, mustshowtheFingerprintcardfirstly,thenplace a finger. 3. Create Fingerprint Card (Create FP Card): copy fingerprint from the machinein which exist toa Card, user can use the fingerprinttoverify, also canutilizeafingerprintandaFingerprintCardtoverify. 4. Register Fingerprint Card (Reg FP Card): there is more than two US100s,AenrollPIN.CardhasbeenregisteredinoneUS100,whichwants to beused toanther US100,theFingerprintCardmustberegisteredfirstly. 5. Clean Fingerprint Card (Unreg FP Card): this operation is a reverse processtoaboveoperation 6. Erase fingerprint from Fingerprint (Empty FP Card): clear all data (fingerprint,PIN)onthefingerprintcard. 7.CopyFingerprintfromcard.(DumpFPCard):Copyafingerprintfroma cardtoUS100.Itisabletoutilizefingerprintdirectattendanceafterfinishing

thisoperationprocess. 8. Transfer fingerprint into card (Move to FP Card): the fingerprint in US100is transferredtoa Fingerprint Card.Thereisnofingerprint inUS100 aftertransferred. Notice:ifyouwanttoknowmoreinformation,pleasereferto<<MifareCard userguide>>

2.2 TestinganEnrollment Ask the users to place their fingers to perform test verification. If the tests are successful,youwilladoptFingerprintenrollment.Ifthepoorqualityoffingerprint, youwillberecommendedtouseFingerprint&Password.

2.3 EnrollingaAuxiliaryFingerprintofUser Enterthenewenrollmentinterface.PressESCkeytocancelthenewenrollment, andtoenterthebackupenrollmentinterface.Thefollowingappears: NewEnroll Continue? ESC OK BackupEnroll Continue? UserID:00009 ESC OK

3.1 MasterSlaveOperation To reduce multiple times to enroll user information in multiple US100s, we use Master Slave operation.The master slave operation is only required to enroll user informationinthemaster.Theotherslaveswillsendsynchronizationrequeststothe designatedmasteraccordingtothesetsynchronizationtime.Themasterwillcheck thesynchronizationrequiestsentbytheslaveandsendalluserinformationaswell
