ThedesignstandardscontainedinthismanualareintendedforthepurposeofpreparingRFprediction modelsonbehalfofAmericanTowerCorporationonly.Allinformationincludedhereisconfidentialand isnottobedisseminatedwithouttheexpressedwrittenconsentofAmericanTower. Designfirmcontractedtoperformthework("Designer")mustberunningiBwaveRFVueVersion5.2.6, andhaveataminimumthePropagationModule.CollectionandOptimizationModulesoptional.Google Earthalsorequired.Basiccompetencewithbothprogramsisrequired. DesignermustbefamiliarwiththebasicprinciplesofinbuildingDASdesign.Thisincludesfamiliarity withlinkbudgets,DASterminology,andDASequipmentarchitecture.Theinformationincludedinthis documentisbasedonAndrew/CommscopeIONBequipment.ThisisadoublestarfiberbasedDAS,and needstobesetuptobeaneutralhostsystem. Thesestandardsaresubjecttochange,andalldeliverablesaresubjecttoreviewandapprovalbyATC DASRFEngineering.

Fortheinterioroftheshoppingmall,orforallotherbuildingtypes,usethefollowing omnidirectionalantenna: (Huber+Suhner)SWA0764/360/6/30/V,alsoknownas1399.17.0085SencityOptima 3. Developanarrayofantennasthatwillcovertheentirecoverageareaat85dBmover95%of thecoveragearea,unlessotherwisedirected.Thisthresholdmeans85dBmforGSMandSMR trafficchannels,butalso85dBmforthePilot/CPICHforCDMA,UMTS,andLTE.Itis recommendedthatinrelativelyopenareas,settheomniantennasabout150'aparttobegin with,andcloserinmoredenseenvironments.Thesecanbeadjustedafterthepredictionsrun. 4. Insertallofthenecessarycabling,splitters,couplers,andjumpersasneededtoconnectthe system.Werecommendthatinmostcases,useonly3antennaperHPRUforbestcoverage results.Othersituationsmayrequiredifferentconfigurations(i.e.corridors,ballrooms,etc.). 5. Oncethesystemiscompletelycabled,clickonPowerperCarrierforeachsysteminthe predictiontoverifyconnectivity.IfthereisnoEiRPoutputfigure,checktheconnections. 6. Atthispoint,wegobacktotheBTSWizardandfinishconfiguringtheBTS.Becausecable footages,attenuators,andheadendcombiningschemesmaychangeatorbefore commissioning,thesafestwaytoapproachthedesignistodeterminewhattheoutputPPC (powerpercarrier)shouldbeattheHPRU.ThiscanbecheckedintheLinkBudgetreport. RequiredoutputvaluesfortheHPRUwillbeprovidedbyATC.AdjusttheDownlinkbyadding inlineattenuatorsuntiltheoutputPPCattheHPRUmatchesthevalueprovidedbyATCfor eachsystemascloseaspossible. 7. SelectthePredictionAreabuttonandtracetheexteriorfootprintforthebuildingateachlevel. 8. OncethecorrectBTSpowerlevelsareset,proceedtoadjustthedesignsothatitmeetsthe 85dBm/95%coveragethresholdforallsystems(seenote#3).
