INTRODUCTION
Shalom Dear Reader, I find it painful to see so much confusion & hurt all around us with regards to BELIEF & TRUE LOVE. Just as a person gets victory over some issue in life, a teacher comes along and brings destruction, or creates CONFUSION! Let LOVE in Messiah reign & let confusion die a quick PAINLESS death... make a choice to KILL CONFUSION immediately! ...you see, if you allow confusion into your life, it will lead to DECEPTION, and if you are deceived, you won't even know it, because you are deceived...!! These teachers are full of JEALOUSY & SELF-SEEKING. They are JEALOUS of one another, they are jealous of you, they are just jealous of everything others have. They seek to enrich themselves, they seek to uplift themselves, they seek honour (worship: "Give me your money!") from simple believers. If you decide to CONTINUE in ignorance of IDOLATRY & REBELLION then YHWH will send CONFUSION (Gen. 11:9)i Webster's Dictionary:

Confusion of goods (Law), the intermixture of the goods of two or more persons, so that their respective portions can no longer be distinguished.

The CONFUSION we are talking about here is the CONFUSION in the mind of the believer concerning doctrine etc., not of DISORDER in the assembly as is meant in 1 Cor. 14:33. Also, YHWH1 will never CONFUSE His own, those who search for Him, adhere to, cling to, & trust in Him fully. He will send CONFUSION amongst the ranks of the enemy as He has done before (Jdg.7:22; 1Sa.14:15-23; 2Ch.20:22-24; Eze.38:21.) The ENEMY are those who UNREPENTANTLY cling to their own REBELLIOUS, IDOL-based interpretations & translations of Scripture, not only the soldier from another nation, or religion who stands at your door with a sword wanting to exterminate your family...

How, you may ask, do I kill confusion?

Ya'acob 3:14-16 But if you have bitter jealousy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast against and lie

against the truth. This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but it is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and self-seeking are, there is confusion and every foul deed.
1.) SIMPLICITY (No jealousy, no self-seeking) Stick to the SIMPLE TRUTHS of SCRIPTURE. The plain message of TRUE LOVE is not complicated... it is easy to understand, even for a child. Yes, even TYPOLOGY, ALLEGORY, the PARABLES, The COMMANDMENTS, the Substitutionary Sacrificial Death & Resurrection of Messiah is EASILY UNDERSTOOD by the SIMPLEST of people. Don't go to Judaism, Judaism (not the Jewish people) is one of the EVILS that Messiah came to DELIVER people from... & Judaism's not SIMPLE! 2.) ERADICATION (No jealousy, no self-seeking) Eradicate the UNTRUTHS in your SET-APART WALK. If you have to LEAVE The Church, then do it! (You cannot change any organization. You can allow only the Ruach of YHWH to EMPOWER you to change in yourself.)

The Preaching of UNTRUTH is widespread in Churches. Falseness, The Occult (Hidden Knowledge of Power), Paganism & especially IDOLATRY is VEILED in the SEMANTICS of Churchianity. The WORDS used to define doctrine, the WORDS used to PREACH from pulpits, many WORDS used even in daily conversation are based in IDOLATRY. The ROOTS of the WORDS used in Christianity is (possibly) purposefully used, because the OCCULTIST believes in the Hidden Knowledge & Power in WORDS (to speak curses over the assemblies). False Names & Titles are used to replace the True Name & Titles of the Creator of the Universe! Early in Christianity, the False Teachers entered, the False doctrine entered, Idolatry entered, & true believers were systematically hunted down & eradicated. NON-JUDGEMENTAL (No jealousy, no self-seeking) Share the Simple Truth without being (sounding) JUDGEMENTAL (very difficult for others to not perceive it as such, but still try). When you share truth, get your facts in order & present it with proofs... now, urge people to make a CHOICE for truth, but don't judge them if they are not ready... just invite them to come again. 5.) AGREE to DISAGREE (No jealousy, no self-seeking) Allow those who are not on your level (arrogance) of KNOWLEDGE & BELIEF to share their acquired-knowledge (maybe you'll learn something), without judging them, even if they use wrong terminology & make doctrinal mistakes... remember your own levels of growth & stages you went through to get where you are now. Sometimes you will have to disagree in silence. When you are attacked by WORDS, don't retaliate with excuses...just keep on presenting TRUTH! (The more you try to defend yourself, the more filthy & nasty the battle becomes. The Devil does not relent, he will continuously slander, steal, kill, destroy, mock, accuse falsely, draw you out, entice you to respond, research your past, expose your secret sin, convict you falsely, drop condemnation into your thoughts, place nearly irresitable temptations before you... I say this, because it happens to me constantly.)

6.) EVERYTHING is not BAD! (No jealousy, no self-seeking) Not everything translated in Scripture is EVIL. Not everything being taught in Church is demonic. Every Pastor is not necessarily a Freemason. Not all Gematria is evil. Not all Rabbanim are bad, but they all learn the Kabbala, or certain aspects of it. Judaism, & a lot of Synagogue Tradition is based on Kabbala, but that doesn't make the Jewish people Evil. We must learn to discern! Sift the correct Teaching from the bad Preaching. Don't correct a Mistake with a Fake. Teach & correct in Love-from-Above. Be open to learn from others. Be teachable. Be reachable not high & unapproachable to those wanting to learn more, or those correcting you in love. 7.) PERSONAL QUIET TIME (No jealousy, no self-seeking) This will be your MOST special weapon to fight Satan, to RESIST TEMPTATION, to receive SCRIPTURAL INSIGHT, to build a RELATIONSHIP with YHWH, to learn to FORGIVE, SHARE, LOVE, PROPHESY and SELF-CONTROL! One such "New" CONFUSION-creating Book is The Word of YAH, The King's Covenant OSE1. This Book claims to be translated from ORIGINAL HEBRAIC source texts, but reading through it reveals it's Greek character. It is based on Alexandrian Texts, with some changed readings interspersed throughout & adopted to suite the publishers' doctrine. It is probably, mostly based on The World English Bible, or Hebraic Names Version which are both in public domain & freely downloadable from the internet so the reader can do their own comparison. The two Versions are actually the same translation, but the HNV uses Hebraic Names instead of the Western Name versions based on Greek & Latin.2

There is a LOT of WEALTH in the IDOL TRADE- even today... and MAMMON is also an IDOL, a demonic entity that drives people with a DESIRE for MONEY that is not natural. The preachers of many churches are driven by this DEMONIC FORCE: Love for Money / Mammon / Tithes & Offerings and they control & manipulate the masses of believers through twisting of Scripture, guilt-trips created by quoting Scripture in such a fashion as to convince people to give more & more.

They use Kabbalistic method, the repetition of Scripture until a state of euphoria / inner peace is reached; the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AMEN is constantly encouraged, the SINGING, the SWAYING, the RYTHM, the DANCING, the PROFESSIONALISM (awe of majesty) of the PERFORMERS on STAGE, then the REPETION creates a TRANCE state where SUGGESTION is used to gain whatever, & to cause people to believe in their teaching... to quote Scripture upon Scripture, piling up Scriptures... & they are fast talkers, then the ENTITIES that have been invoked (deliberately or unknowingly by their Kabbalistic / Masonic method) create the anointed atmosphere where emotionalism is placed above true belief. What is modern day IDOL TRADE?

Besides the normal IDOLS like the millions of Hindu gods, Budha, the Swamis of India, the Saints of Roman Catholicism, Mary Worship, Alla worship... the church in general has declined into an even worse IDOL TRADE! They sell books called BIBLES named after the goddess Byblos! Some say the WORD Bible is related to BABEL which means CONFUSION... do you like reading CONFUSION? Many very IMPORTANT WORDS in this Bookii are also related to IDOLATRY, & used to invoke spiritual ENTITIES / PRIMITIVES! The HIDDEN MEANING of WORDS are important to the OCCULTIST! What is the Real name of the Messiah?

Even though some believe IESOUS = Hail ZEUS, or the name, JESUS, as suggested by the publishers of OSE1, means, Away with ZEUS, or Curse ZEUS in their FABRICATED AbraUW / YAHUWan / IbreUW,xvi but it is still NOT the NAME of the Messiah. The King's Covenant OSE1 proposes yet another name for Messiah, YAHUW, but YAHUW is NOT the name of the Messiah.xvii The name of Jesus is approximately 400 years old. The English language never had the letter "J" till about 500 years ago.xviii Because it is a recent name not known by THE ALMIGHTY, nor any of the Apostles, this name Jesus is an illegitimate replacement & NOT even a translation, or TRANSLITERATION of the ORIGINAL.xix

In the Book, The False Name & Mystery Babylon, by Dave Ray, the author describes (pg.6,7)the various ways in which one can derive to the Name of the Messiah. He suggests 4 methods:
CONJUGATION Method- "...by the conjugation of the word to be in Hebrew, which is ( hayah in English transliteration). This particular school of thought always seems to wind up with the problem, that the more you try to make the great name a verb the more it becomes a noun, & the more you try to make it a noun, the more it becomes a verb. ONOMASTIC METHOD- ...using the prefixes & suffixes of the TaNaK (Torah[Law], Nebey'im[Prophets], Kethubim[Writings]=Old Covenant) Names to arrive at the great Name. The problem with this is that in Modernised Aramaic block lettered Hebrew with the Nikud (vowel pointing) placed by Massoretes (transmitters, literally, better known to us as modern scribes, but not Sopherim which were the more ancient Scribes) the sounds were changed from the Paleo-Hebrew. Originally the vowel sequence was a-u-a. This was changed by some Massoretes to e-u-a, and some other Massoretes to e-o-a; they themselves not agreeing. By these two forms we get almost the same name but with different vowel sounds. LETTERS METHOD- ...to try to derive the Great Name from the Greek transliteration. This particular school of thought has the problem of never coming up with anything that can be backed by Hebrew (the mother tongue for the Name). COMBINED METHOD- Believing that the CONJUGATION & ONOMASTIC Method should be combined & not considered on it's own.

7 Phonetics is a branch of linguistics that studies the sounds of human speech, and does not deal with the meanings and origins of words, so to say that sus, seus, and sous are phonetic pronunciations of Zeus is misleading, if not false. Words that sound similar do not always have the same meaning. For example, the past tense of read and the color red sound the same, but there is no relation between the two, either etymologically or semantically. Of these three endings to words, only seus sounds similar to Zeus but they are not related to each other, either in etymology, or in semantics. Jesus means nothing

by itself unless explained & connected by a study like this to YHUH. It is NOT appropriate to use this name for the Saviour.

We see in the previous quotations how people differ in opinion. By reading the Footnotes & endnotes one can see how many people are mistaking in their opinions. Suffice to say, Jesus is NOT the Messiah's name & NEVER was. It is a hybrid made up name...but the ONLY surviving Hebraic form of His name is found in the Aramaic Peshitta! It is Y'ShuO! While He walked the earth in flesh, as a mere sinless man, the second Adam (yet still being Elohiym in His fullness), He was called Y'ShuO, possibly Yahushuo as well. What we do have is actual proof-texts in the TaNaK and Messianic Covenant Scriptures of His Name as He is now... it is the same as it was before His incarnation.

The DENIAL of the MOST Set-Apart Name is now an important agenda just as it has been part of the teachings of ALL Churches World-wide. And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against Elohym, to blaspheme His Name, and His Tabernacle, and those dwelling in the heaven. Rev. 13:6 Is His Name written in / on your Forehead??? (Rev. 14:1; 22:4) Blasphemy is not just using His Name in Vain, but also NOT using His Name at all! (Ex. 20:79) Denying the existence of His Name, denying the importance of His Name, denying the pronouncibility of His Name, using substitutes in place of His Name, adding prefixes & suffixes to His Name, and adding a definite article to His Name... in so doing, hiding it from the people. Blaspheming His Name has become the Church's most notable sin.

The previous Scriptural truths are only visible in the Aramaic Peshitta where YHWH is written as MarYA and it is clear that Messiah is MarYA i.o.w YHWH. Sin of BLASPHEMY...
If you DENY His most Set-Apart Name, be sure you are NOT blaspheming against the Ruach HaQodesh! Belief in His Name

And by the belief in His Name, this one whom you see and know, His Name made strong, and the belief which comes through Him has given him this perfect healing before all of you.

belief in His Name- The invocaction of the Name is not magic as some believed. Even today there are people who use names of their gods & demons to manipulate destiny. This is called magic. People will even try it with the Set-Apart Name of Elohiym. The Kabbalists believe there is great power in this Name & use the Name as if it is a metaphysical power source that can be manipulated for gain. The modern Church has become like this in a great sense, using God's Name & the Name Jesus as if it is a magic wand. Believing in the Name & calling on His Name is to believe that His proper Name is YHWH & to realise what and Whom it represents: The Living Elohiym, our Creator & Saviour who through His own shed blood (life) and ONLY through that dying act & ressurection from death gifts the believer with Redemption. The Shed blood of Mashiach is sufficient to deliver from evil, sickness, poverty etc., but our life is not ours any longer, it belongs to YHWH; if we made such a commitment by calling on His Name, YHWH (the key to contact YHWH).

What do we do? Where do we go from here?

The time of ignorance is over. It is time to return to using the rightful Hebrew Name of Messiah - YaHUShO / YaHUShuO Stop with all the excuses... Yes, but, we have done so much in that Name Jesus... the healings, the major Evangelistic Crusades, Outreaches, Churches etc... if you find out about the poison in your drink when you are warned, will you still drink it, because it tastes 'nice'? Let us address Him in an HONOURABLE way, the way The Father intended for us to do. Let us bring honour to His Name... not in OUR way, but in HIS pre-Scribed way! Be WARNED... it is a SURE REQUIREMENT for us to enter into eternity with our Master. It will be MANDATORY in the FUTURE KINGDOM of Messiah. We cannot make up our own protocols; we have to follow HIS KINGDOM PROTOCOLS. Fulfilling Scriptural Prophecy

Using the Messiah's REAL & ONLY Name is the ONLY WAY to understanding Scripture fulfilled.

All the above Scriptures are being fulfilled - only in the name of "YHUH". Since YHUH's Name is embedded in The Messiah's name - When one calls upon the Messiah YHUH Y'Shuo Messiah, you are of neccessity calling upon YHUH the Father as well. Again, Thus said , Sovereign of Yisral, and his Redeemer, of hosts, I am the First and I am the Last, besides Me there is no Elohim Is. 44:6 / Yesh. 44:6 Here is clearly stated that the Messiah's Name is the SAME as the Father's: YHUH! In pagan Christianity the name of Jesus can be connected to Zeus through ritual & tradition so also the image. Can this be just coincidence?

Concerning certain WORDS in The King's Covenant OSE1

The MOST IMPORTANT WORD in this copied & pasted & edited version of Scripture (The publishers claim to have "translated" it from newly discovered "manuscripts", but a lot of it is from the World English Bible or the Hebrew Names Version)...the MOST IMPORTANT WORD is, YAHUW. (pronounced: yahoo / yahu). The WORD YAHUW appears many times throughout Scripture as part of the names of men & prophets. It appears as part of certain other WORDS as well & there is nothing wrong with the WORD & it's usage in Scripture... but to the OCCULTIST, the KABBALIST, the MAGICIAN... it may have a different meaning. YAHUW is NOT the Name of the Almighty Creator. YAHUW is NOT the Name of our Deliverer & Redeemer... we may as well then make the logical assumption that YAH is His Name. In the general Old Testament, English versions of Scripture, called Bibles, we find at least 7738 times the WORD Lord & LORD! Eight different WORDS, all translated to the same WORD... Mmmmm, more confusion from the Idol-traders?

I will use the Paleo-Hebrew for The Name from hereon: hwhy It is not an easy task to get a satisfactory solution to SPELL & get the pronounciation. It will differ in different languages. For this document we will use the spelling YHWH / YHUH (YaH-oo-aH) as this is the proper spelling in English & also preserves the pronounciation of the Set-Apart Name of our Creator in English (in another language a different way of spelling may be appropriate to preserve the correct spelling & pronounciation in that language) 2.) If one does a deep study of Scripture & language used in Scripture, it is inevitable to come to the conclusion that the Creator has a Name & that He intended for us, who believe in Him, to USE THAT NAME. It is YaHUwaH or YaHUH & this is a COMPOUND Name.20 YAH, which is his proper, root NAME & the VERB HaUaH (an archaic form of HaYaH- to be / he was / will be /exists)- (see Endnotes Posibility A,B,C for pronouciation) The WORD Hallelu-YAH means, "Praise ye YAH!" BREATHE IN: EE-HA; BREATHE OUT: UU-HA // ASEM IN: IE-HA; ASEM UIT: OE-HA Clement of Alexandria, and Theodoret, wrote the sacred name of the Almighty in Greek letters. Clement of Alexandria wrote IAOUE, (Clement of Alexandria, The Stromata, or Miscellanies, book V, chapter VI) that is pronounced EE-A-UU-EH because in Greek OU is pronounced U, and Theodoret wrote IABE, that is pronounced EE-A-UV-EH, because in Greek the letter B is pronounced V (Theodoret, Quaestiones in Exodum, chapter XV and The New Bible Dictionary, organizer editor J. D. Douglas, in the entry "GOD, NAMES OF"). The Hebrew letter, VAV, that corresponds to English, V originally was pronounced with the sound of, U, and because of this in Hebrew the letter VAV sometimes is used to represent the sound of, U. Because of this, some transliterate the letter VAV as W, and not as V. Clement of Alexandria wrote approximately in the year 215 A.D., and Theodoret wrote approximately in the year 466 A.D. At the time in which they wrote, the correct pronunciation of the Sacred Name of the Almighty was still known. As they wrote in Greek letters, and in the Greek alphabet there are vowels, we came to know that the correct pronunciation of the name ( YHWH)

So, we see, the ROOT of the NAME YAHUAH is indeed: YAH & not yahoo / yahu / yahuw. Yahuw / yahu / yahoo is thus only a contracted form from YaHUaH / hwhy & used in Construct words to join the Creator's Name to a WORD to give it a wonderful Set-Apartness in meaning. YaHU could mean YAH IS. And indeed according to Strong's #3058 it does mean YAH is, or YAH is HE, or YAH, HE is We find the form YAHU on the prophets' names, either starting it or ending it. King Yeho / Yahu (2 Kings 9) would not dare use his Creator's Name as his own personal name, would he? No one is called YAH in Scripture except the Almighty Creator. Then the witness of the Aramaic Targums attest to the fact that the Name of the Creator is YAH, by calling Him Mar-YA meaning, Master YAH! In the Aramaic New Testament (Peshitta) more than 30 times, the Messiah is called Master YA. How do we know YaHUShuA is YaHUwaH? How do we know YaHUShA is The Almighty Creator? Not from the GREEK, but CLEARLY from the Hebraic / Aramaic Manuscripts- Peshitta & Peshitto... And when the Pharisees were gathered together, / (ocwhy asked them, saying, What do you think concerning the Messiah? Whose Son is He? They said to Him, The Son of Dawi. Mt. 22:41 The word Mar-YA (referring to YHWH) is used more than 200 times in the Aramaic Peshitta Here is a comparison of some selected texts between the Peshitta & Greek versions: Master YAH (MarYA as used in the Peshitta) is the Aramaic form that is used for the Hebrew, Set-Apart Name / hwhy (YaH-UwaH / YHWH). This form is also possibly used to hide the full Name of our Creator, as is the form Y'Shua (Yeshua / Yeshu). As much as possible the original Name of Father & Son will be inserted into the text as a restoration. Y'ShUA ( )is the Aramaic form of the Hebrew Name of Messiah / ocwhy- YaHUShuO / YaHUShO. Many Aramaic speakers believe the correct pronounciation of ( )should be YA-ShUA; YA referring to the YA in Master YAH. Meshicha is the same as the word Messiah.

Westcott and Hort were responsible for the greatest feat in textual criticism. They were responsible for replacing the Universal Text of the Authorized Version (Byzantine / Received Text) with the Local Text of Egypt (Alexandrian Text) and the Roman Catholic Church. They had been deceived into believing that the Roman Catholic manuscripts, Vaticanus and Aleph, were better because they were "older. They have both become famous for being able to deny scriptural truth and still be upheld by fundamental Christianity as biblical authorities! Both Westcott and Hort failed to accept the basic Bible doctrines which we hold so dear and vital to our fundamental faith.

Neither man believed that the Bible should be treated any differently than the writings of the lost historians and philosophers! Rejection of Christ's atoning death for the sins of all mankind. Hort considered the teachings of Christ's atonement as heresy! Dr. Hort also believed that the Roman Catholic teaching of "baptismal regeneration" was more correct than the "evangelical" teaching. Both believed that Heaven existed only in the mind of man. Both believed it possible to communicate with the dead and made many attempts to do just that through a society which they organized and entitled "The Ghostly Guild. Westcott accepted and promoted prayers for the dead. Both were admirers of Mary (Westcott going so far as to call his wife Sarah, "Mary"), and Hort was an admirer and proponent of Darwin and his theory of evolution. It has only been in recent years that scholars have examined their unbalanced theories concerning manuscript history and admitted that their agreements were weak to non-existent. Darby's Commentary The angel gives ... the name of Jesus (that is, Jehovah [YHWH] the Saviour) to the child that should be born. He applies this name to the deliverance of Israel from the condition into which sin had plunged them. All these circumstances happened, in order to fulfil that which Jehovah had said by the mouth of His prophet, "Behold a the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Here then is that which the Spirit of God sets before us in these few verses: Jesus, the Son of

David, conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost; Jehovah (YHWH), the Saviour, who delivers Israel from their sins; God with them; He who accomplished those marvellous prophecies which, more or less plainly, drew the outline that the Lord Jesus (YaHUShuO) alone could fill up.

This has been a mystery to many people. Yet, it is made very clear in Scripture what nature His resurrection body is. If we disagree with Scripture on this Fundamental matter, Scripture declares us False Prophets and anti-Messiah! It would do us well to consider the true meaning of anti. It means: In place of and we can observe this notion in the sects & cults around us. The particular Sect, or Cult usually take the place of Messiah with their crooked doctrine & false interpretation of original Scripture. We will find truth mixed with error & even when we receive revelation to understand Scripture...all of us are also subject to error and desperately need the Ruach HaQodesh every breathing moment of our lives to guide us, lead us in truth, correct us, allow chastisement, bring us to forgiveness, witness to our inner-man that we are children of the Most-High, help us understand & receive forgiveness and so on...

At that time vowel letters were just beginning to be used in Hebrew. If YHWH represents a spelling earlier than 900 B.C. (as would seem likely), the final "h" should have been pronounced. The pronunciation Yahweh assumes the ending of a lamed-he verb, but these verbs in Moses' day ended in a "y" (cf for bana the Ug. impf. ybny). So the ending "eh" is a late form. But in Hebrew in late times a "w" that began a word or syllable changed to "y" (as in the pe-waw verbs and the verb haya itself). So the "w" of Yahweh represents a pre-mosaic pronunciation but the final "eh" represents probably a post-davidic form. In view of these problems it may be best simply to say that YHWH does not come from the verb hawa (presumably hawaya in its early form) at all. There are many places in the OT where it is now recognized that the parallel of a name and its meaning is not necessarily etymological. For instance, 1Sa_1:20 probably does not mean that the name Samuel is derived from the verb shama' "to hear." Gen_11:9 does not mean that Babel comes from the verb balal "confusion" but only that the two words sound somewhat alike. Likewise Jacob is said to mean both "heel" (Gen_25:26) and "supplanter" (Gen_27:36). There are many other examples of this device which is to be taken as a paranomasia, a play on words, rather than as an etymology. Therefore we may well hold that YHWH does not come from the verb hawa which is cited in the first person 'ehyeh "I will be," but is an old word of unknown origin which sounded something like what the verb hawa sounded in Moses' day. In this case we do not know what the pronunciation was; we can only speculate. However, if the word were spelled with four letters in Moses' day, we would expect it to have had more than two syllables, for at that period there were no vowel letters. All the letters were sounded. At the end of the OT period the Elephantine papyri write the word YHW to be read either yahu (as in names like Shemayahu) or yaho (as in names like Jehozadek). The pronunciation yaho would be favored by the later Greek from iao found in Qumran Greek fragments (2d or 1st centuries B.C.) and in Gnostic materials of the first Christian centuries. Theodoret in the fourth century A.D. states that the Samaritans pronounced it iabe. Clement of Alexandria (early 3d century A.D.) vocalized it as iaoue. These are quite late witnesses and seem to contradict the much earlier Jewish witness of Elephantine and the name elements, none of which end in "eh." . As to the meaning of the name, we are safer if we find the character of God from his works and from the descriptions of him in the Scripture rather than to depend on a questionable etymology of his name. Among the commonest names with this element are yehonatan "Jonathan," the name of seventeen different OT characters (ISBE, III, pp. 1580, 1730). These include Moses' treacherous (great) grandson Jonathan (Jdg_18:30, ASV), David's faithful friend Jonathan, the son of Saul (1Sa_18:1), and David's young courier Jonathan the son of Abiathar (2Sa_15:27; 1Ki_1:42). yehoshapat "Jehoshaphat," identifies six individuals (ISBE, III, pp. 15811582, 1743), including Israel's recorder under David and Solomon (2Sa_8:16; 1Ki_4:3) and Judah's fourth king after the division, 872-848 B.C. The name reappears in Joel's prediction of the Valley of Jehoshaphat (Joe) Joe_3:2, Joe_3:12 [H4 2,12]), where God will overcome the nations gathered to oppose his advent in glory. But rather than designating the site of King Jehoshaphat's ancient victory (Beracah between Hebron and Bethlehem, 2Ch_20:26), this title seems to identify a spot beside Jerusalem (Joe_3:17 [H 4.17]), traditionally the Kidron, below Olivet (Zec_14:4). It may be less a place name than prophecy's description of the event of yehoshapat; "Yahweh has judged." . yehoshua-yeshua' designates ten Hebrew leaders (ISBE, III, pp. 1622, 1743) from Moses' successor Joshua (KJV, Jehoshua in Num_13:16; 1Ch_7:27) to the post-exilic high priest Jeshua (Ezr_3:2; Neh_12:10). The former's name was changed from the Hiphil infinitive, Hoshea, "salvation," to Joshua, with its deeper spiritual connotation of "Yahweh (is) salvation" (Num_13:8, Num_13:16). Both men are called "Jesus" in Greek (Act_7:45; 1Esd 5:48), i.e., yeshua' is our Lord's Hebrew name, "for he will save his people from their sins" (Mat_1:21). This may be a shortened form with the divine element omitted, meaning "he will save." .

The shortened independent form of the divine name, Yah, occurs primarily in poetry and in the exclamation, Hallelu-yah, praise Yahweh. It serves also as a terminal element in proper nouns like Elijah: "eliya (or 'eliyahu), "God (is) Yahweh." . In the post-biblical period, reverence for the ineffable name "Yahweh" caused it to be supplanted in synagogue reading (but not in writing) with the noun 'adonay, "my master," or Lord. Next, when medieval Jewish scholars began to insert vowels to accompany the consonantal OT text, they added to YHWH the Masoretic vowel points for 'adonay; and the actual writing became an impossible Yahowah, the ASV "Jehovah." . God's name identifies his nature, so that a request for his "name" is equivalent to asking about his character (Exo_3:13; Hos_12:5 [H 6]). Critical speculation about the origin and meaning of "Yahweh" seems endless (cf L. Kbhler, OT Theology, pp. 4246; IDB, 11, pp. 409-11); but the Bible's own explanation in Exo_3:14 is that it represents the simple (Qal) imperfect of hawa "to be," I am [is] what I am. The precise name Yahweh results when others speak of him in the third person, yahweh "He is." Albright, it is true, has championed a causative rendering, "I cause to be, I create" (From the Stone Age to Christianity, 2d ed., 1946, p. 198; D. N. Freedman, JBL, 79: 151-56); but this is rightly criticized as "conjuring up a nonexistent Hiphil form" (N. Walker, JBL, 79: 277). . Some have gone on to suggest that the Qal meaning of Yahweh must be God's unchangeableness toward his people (Exo_3:15; G. Vos, Biblical Theology, p. 134). But, as Moses himself indicated (Exo_3:13), the fact that he was the ancient God of the fathers was insufficient to answer Israel's need at that time; and, in any event, the OT has little to say concerning abstractions such as "the changelessness of deity" (though in the NT Jesus did use Exo_3:14 to introduce the thought of his eternal divine existence, Joh_8:58), God's immediately preceding promise to Moses had been, "Certainly I will be with you" (Exo_3:12). So his assertion in verse 14 would seem to be saying, "I am present is what I am." Indeed, the fundamental promise of his testament is, "I will be their God, and they will be my people" (Exo_6:7; etc.; contrast Hos_1:9); thus "Yahweh," "faithful presence," is God's testamentary nature, or name (Exo_6:2, Exo_6:4; Deu_7:9; Isa_26:4). The use of Yahweh as a divine name goes back to earliest times (Gen_4:1, Gen_4:26; Gen_9:26), although the documentation for its employment among other early cultures appears questionable (IDB, II, p. 409). In Exo_6:3 the Lord explains to Moses that by his name Yahweh he had not been "known" to the patriarchs, meaning "know" (see yada') in its fullest sense: the name was in use (Gen_12:8; Gen_15:2, Gen_15:7, Gen_15:8) but was not appreciated in the redemptive significance that it acquired under Moses (J. A. Motyer, The Revelation of the Divine Name). For even the so-called P document, which critics have hypothesized as contradicting the Bible's claims to the earlier use of Yahweh (ibid., pp. 3-6), utilizes it in premosaic proper nouns (Jochebed, Exo_6:20; Num_26:59). Commencing with the later judges (1Sa_1:3), the name Yahweh is often combined with seba'ot, "hosts" (armies, q.v.). The Tetragrammaton occurs in every OT book except Ecclesiastes and Est. It appears in the ninth century Moabite inscription of Mesha (line 18). From the eighth century onward the element "Yau-" is employed in Aramaic names and in Mesopotamian references to Hebrew rulers, Only in pre-NT times was God's personal name replaced with the less intimate title 'adonay (Gr., kurios) "Lord." . Scripture speaks of the Tetragrammaton as "this glorious and fearful name" (Deu_28:58) or simply "the name" (Lev_24:11). But it connotes God's nearness, his concern for man, and the revelation of his redemptive covenant. In Genesis 1 through Gen_2:3, the general term 'elohim (q.v.) "deity," is appropriate for God transcendent in creation; but in Gen_2:4-25 it is Yahweh, the God who is immanent in Eden's revelations. In Gen_9:26-27, Elohim enlarges Japheth, but Yahweh is the God of Shem; the latter is especially used in references to the God of Israel. In Psa 19 the heavens declare the glory of El (vv. I -6); but the law of Yahweh is perfect, and Yahweh is "my strength and my redeemer" (vv. 7-14 [H 8-15]; cf. G. T. Manley, The Book of the Law, p. 41). Yet the distinction is not pervasive: Psalms 14 and Psalms 53 are practically identical except for the divine names employed; book I of the Psalter (Psa 1-41) simply prefers Yahweh, and book II (42-72), Elohim. Ultimately the connotations of the name Yahweh are fulfilled in the "covenant of peace," when the God who has been present from the first will be fully present at the last (Isa_41:4); cf. Ezekiel's stress upon God's "sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore" (Eze_37:26) and his eschatological city's being named YHWH shamma "Yahweh is there."
