PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS MANUFACTURING LLC PSM-08 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Tools Required: 7 mm Socket 10 mm Socket Medium C-Clamp Saber Saw or Keyhole Saw Drill and Bit Marking Pen Parts Included: Plastic Air Box Flange Template Air Box Flange (4) bolts, rubber washers & lock nuts (2) Screw Clamp 4 Rubber Duct Inlet Port Decal

IMPORTANT; Please read all the instructions and study pictures before starting installation. MODIFY THE STOCK AIR BOX FOR THE FLANGE ADAPTER 1. With a 7 mm socket, loosen screw clamp on air inlet duct to air box and separate duct from box. 2. Unplug the 2 sensor connections on the side of the air box. To unlock the connector, slide the red plastic tab to the other side of the connector. Then depress the tab at the end of the connector while pulling the connector apart. Pull wire harness prong out of the air box. (Photo C1) 3. Disconnect the 2 steel spring clamps on the side of the air box, remove top of box. 4. With a 10 mm socket, remove the nut that attaches the air box to the radiator support. Wiggle and lift up on the box to remove it. The box is held in place by two plastic studs in rubber grommets at the battery. 5. Turn air box over and install the plastic template to the box using a bolt located in the stock drain hole. (Photo 1) 6. Place Air Box Flange over the template and position the side of the flange so it is parallel to the box. Cclamp the flange in place. Drill 3 holes with a bit using the flange holes as a guide. (Photo 2) 7. Insert the 3 bolts in the drilled holes, remove the C-clamp, and drill the 4th hole. Remove the template. 8. With a marking pen, scribe the inside diameter of the Flange onto the air box. Remove the Flange and cut a hole in the air box to the scribed line. Remove any burrs. (Photo 3, and Photo 4) 9. Turn the air box over. Install the rubber washers on to the bolts and insert the bolts through the holes from inside the box. Install the Flange and nuts on the outside of the box and tighten the fasteners to slightly depress the rubber washers on the ribs to conform to the round bottom of the box. Tighten fasteners until Air Box Flange can not be moved around on box. (Photo 5) 10. Install the Rubber Duct on the Flange and secure with the Screw Clamp. (Photo 6)

INLET PORT INSTALLATION 1. Install air box and duct by guiding the duct down between the wheel well and air baffle, making sure it does not hang up by checking from under the truck. 2. Insure air box studs are located above the grommets and the front air box mounting hole is above the steel stud before seating the air box. When located, wiggle the box down in place. Fasten the front of the box with the 10 mm nut, and re-install the top of air box, the two sensor connections and air inlet tube to the air box. 3. Place decal on air box cover as shown after cleaning surface. (Photo 7) 4. From under the truck insure the end of the Duct is in position. Place Screw Clamp over the Duct and insert Inlet Port end inside the Duct. Tighten in place. The bottom of the Inlet Port should be positioned just above the bottom rolled lip of the plastic wheel well. (Photo 8)
