The Church and the Supernatural

By Pastor Kikelomo Togun

Ladies and gentleman, brothers and sisters we are in the last days. Jesus is coming very soon, it is in the air. We are believing God for the supernatural in these last days. The anointing in these last days is so overwhelming and I just want to flow with the anointing. What is the meaning of supernatural? It is something above the natural; something extra ordinary, something not of this world. If you want the church to grow in these last days, you need the supernatural because the Bible says, unless they see signs and wonders they are not going to believe. When Peter and John healed a lame man by the power of the Holy Ghost, 2000 were added to the church. There are two powers that can bring about the supernatural , Gods power and the devils power but Gods power is greater than the devils power, no basis for comparison because one is the Creator and the other is the created being. But the devil also has some power and some have used satanic power to grow their church. But I am talking about Gods supernatural power and His church. The Holy Spirit can bring tremendous growth to the church with signs and wonders. When Jesus started healing, crowds started following Him and looking for Him. So we need the supernatural in these last days to bring revival in our churches, in our cities and nations.

I believe it is coming, when the sick, the lame, the blind, the deaf will come to the church to be healed and the church will overflow not with fake healing but true healing from the throne of God.
Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

So the signs are supposed to follow the church that is the believer. The church and the supernatural! The Bible says, My children are for signs and wonders. I read about an evangelist in the 19th century, John Lake, his city was the healthiest in the USA. Even hospitals were emptied of sick people, the doctors referred their patients to him and they all got healed. The church and the Supernatural!
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mission to India
(May 9, 2011 May 17, 2011)
By Philip Ademola Togun

We left for India on Monday, May 9, 2011 and returned on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. It was my first visit to India but my wifes third visit. Dr. Luke, a physician-turned-pastor (since 1984) was our host. He is the pastor of Jesus heals and holy Fire Worship Church in Visakhapatnam, Andra Pradesh state in southern India. Two things impressed me about our Indian brothers and sisters. Firstly, they are very patient with regards to the length of the worship service. No matter how long a particular service took, they sat patiently and most of them had Bibles, which they opened as soon as a passage was called. The second thing that we observed was that at offering time everybody came forward to give something, despite the fact many of them were poor. There was no high-pressure pitch by their pastor about giving. They just gave voluntarily. One could not but see the enthusiasm of the young people. They accounted for at least half of each of the churches that we visited. G. Samuel Sukumar and his wife Susan, a young couple who had gotten married shortly before our arrival in India, asked my wife and I to lay hands on them and pray for their marriage. We were pleasantly surprised. Our visit also coincided with the inauguration of a new church Calvary Temple by Pastor K. Jeevaratnam, who is the father-in-law to Dr. Lukes daughter, Jerusha. We were able to pray for Gods direction as he embarked on this ministry. He had invested his retirement money to start the new church.

We visited two other churches that are affiliated with Dr. Lukes church, one in the city (consisting mainly of fishermen and their families) and one in a rural area where we addressed a pastors conference followed by an evening evangelistic service. Despite the persecution of Christians in India, they manifested the joy of the Lord and were very generous to us. We are thankful to all of them especially Dr. Lukes wife who went the extra mile to make us welcome. By the grace of God, we plan to increase our level of involvement in Dr. Lukes ministry.

To God be the glory.
