Summer Placement Rules MBA IB /AB / E&E [2010-12]

Placement assistance is a privilege and not a right. Please note that SIIB does not guarantee placements. Rules For the batch of 2010-12, SIIB will be conducting summer recruitment process on rolling basis starting from October,2010 and will go on till 31st March,2011 OR until the last eligible student gets placed, whichever is earlier. Once the student gets selected in any company, he/she will be out of the campus recruitment process despite having applied to other companies which are yet to visit the Institute. Once a student gets short listed for any companys selection process, then he /she can not withdraw name. Therefore, it is advisable to apply to the company after careful thought. Once the student gets Pre Placement Offer from any company, he/she is required to accept the same and if not, the student will be out of final placement process with immediate effect. Since the company might give the Institute a limited time for CV processing, it is advisable for the students to remain on the campus and to check the Livewire on regular basis. NO COMPANY INFORMATION WILL BE SENT ON YAHOO/GOOGLE GROUPS. Placement committee will not inform students personally. Once the deadline for applications is over, any request for inclusion of application will not be entertained. If the student gets short listed for any companys selection process but, remains absent for the process for whatsoever reasons, he/she will become ineligible for further campus recruitment process, with immediate effect. The students are expected to wear college formals and I-card while appearing for the campus recruitment process on campus/ off campus. If a student accepts a summer internship through the Institute, it is mandatory for the student to take the same internship; else final placement assistance will be denied. The students are encouraged to fix summer internship on their own to avoid conflicts on location/sector. In such case, the Institute will provide a bonafide letter, if required. Also, the concerned student is required to submit the details of his/her summer internship to the Placecom before joining the organization for summer internship in April, 2011.

During the selection process, the students are not allowed to approach the company or to refuse the offer or bargain the stipend with the company. Any student found to be underperforming or just applying for interview practice, will be debarred from further placement assistance.

The performance of the student during summer internship will be evaluated by the company on the parameters given in the evaluation sheet which will be given to all the students in March, 2011.

The students are requested to adhere to confidentiality as far as any activity of placements is concerned. Discussion of any placement related activity outside the Institute premises should be discouraged. In case of any dispute regarding the interpretation of Placement rules, the final decision would lie in the hands of Institute authorities.

Eligibility for Final Placements Placement eligibility will be based on the following five parameters Online test 65 marks Attendance 40 marks CGPA 40 marks Viva 50 marks Certifications 5 marks Total 200 marks The detailed guidelines about the final placements have already been given to you in the students handbook. Hence, the students are advised to monitor their academic progress and attendance from semester I.
