Executive Brieng on Philippine Outsourcing held in London on 16th June 2011 London, United Kingdom, 22 June 2011.

The Philippine Trade and Investment Center in London (PTIC London), recently collaborated with the British Philippine Outsourcing Council to hold the rst ever Executive Brieng on Philippine Outsouring last 16 June 2011. The event is a brainchild of the British Philippine Outsourcing Councils founding members UK companies currently providing outsourced services from the Philippines and PTIC London. Targeting executive-level decision makers from the United Kingdoms mainstream companies, the Executive Brieng proved to be a highly effective exercise to discuss the growing global attention to Philippine Outsourcing at the management level. The executive brieng was well attended by high-level executives from UK multinational companies involved in Telecommunications, Insurance, Banking, Finance and Accounting and IT and Creative Industries. Michael Alfred Ignacio, Commercial Attach and Director of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in London, welcomed the participants with a business and industry introduction on Phiilppine Outsourcing, highlighting multiple international awards that have recognised the country as a destination of choice for Offshore Outsourcing and why major global players locate their main operations in the Philippines. Obrar Consultings Richard Hampson and Dave Hopkins, premier outsourcing consultants in the United Kingdom, also spoke about the advantages and realities of outsourcing to the Philippines and their success cases in bringing major UK brands and their customer service operations to the country. Pete Graf, global Head of Service Desk at DHL, joined the Executive Brieng via live video link from Prague and discussed several slides on why they are very satised with the quality and level of service delivered from the Philippines through its outsourced IT provider Merlin Information Systems. Graf highlighted the talent pool available in the Philippines and how the country is able to produce multilingual services agents which they needed at a short notice. DHL is a major client of Merlin Information Services Group, a founding rm of the British Philippine Outsourcing Council and represented by Richard Patterson, CEO and Ian McGowan, Sales and Marketing Manager. Rob OMalley, UK VP of Aegis Global BPO, another founding member of the British Philippine Outsourcing Council, shared highlights of his many years of experience as a pioneer in establishing Philippine Outsourcing operations, having lived in the country as an expatriate executive for various outsourcing rms in the country, and explained why the companies he represented over the years chose the Philippines and continue to thrive there, citing advantages in the availability and quality of the Philippine talent pool, the western culture in the Philippines, among others. Dr. Bharat Vagadia, of O2Pi was requested by the group to be a resource speaker and he presented an online decision-making tool for business managers considering to outsource to different locations. The online tool is free and available for basic use for everyone. Dr. Vagadia is likewise a board member of the UKs National Outsourcing Association. The venue was hosted by Aegis Global BPO at their impressive Lansdowne House offices in Berkeley Square, Green Park, London.

The Philippine has been awarded as the Offshoring Destination of the Year for 2010 by the National Outsourcing Association of the UK, an award it has also won in 2009 and 2007. The Executive Brieng comes at an opportune time for British companies to explore the numerous advantages and compelling reasons to consider outsourcing to the Philippines and how best this can add value to their operations. The Executive Brieng provided comprehensive information on the Philippines as an Offshoring Destination, as well as valuable insights from British and Global companies that are already doing it successfully.
