Its easy to write Hovernotes

Its easy to write a Hovernote. Not only is it easy, but I think that this is a great method for getting your message out to the widest audience possible. Thats because a Hovernote is produced in a way which makes it easy to release in multiple formats all at once. If you consider the blog or the printed newsletter, in either case you need to take additional steps if you want to reach an audience in different formats. A blog post has to be printed or copy and pasted into a Word document if you want to reach an audience who reads only on paper. A newsletter might be converted and distributed into a PDF, but then readers treat the articles as if they are one long document. You could always include links in the articles to their online counterparts, but then you lose the cohesion of a newsletter. The Hovernote format respects all of the technologies and concepts that are important to publishing. You can publish one Hovernote at a time, or use RSS feeds to publish multiple notes at the same time. When youre done with a Hovernote, it will be available online as a blog post, webpage, as well as downloadable as a PDF or Word document. You will need the following before you write your first Hovernote: Google Docs Account Posterous Accout Your first step is to log into your Google Docs account. Your second step is to start a new document, and to just start writing. When you are finished with your draft, click the share button and then share the document with me by entering the email address morga2ja@gmail.com. After youve shared the document with me for that first time, Ill send you information about how you can access a template Ive set up for Hovernotes. I will even help you to start a template of your own, or even set it up for you if you ask. Once youve established the template, you wont need to always share your work with me, but Id be happy to take a look for you. Your next step is to start a blog on Posterous. When you write a hovernote in Google Docs, youll need to copy and paste the contents into a Posterous blog post. There are some issues 32bpwr3@gmail.com | Notes from Jon | Facebook | Twitter |

with formatting when you do this, so you will want to use the Remove Formatting tool before you post. The work could end there, but if you want your message to be seen youll need to promote yourself. This is where I can help, and why I recommended that you start a Posterous blog. Ill add you to a Hovernotes blog that Ive started on Blogspot. This will allow you to set up your Posterous account so that blog posts automatically post to the Hovernotes blog. Ill also help you set up a system which will automatically feed your posts into different networks so that you will have an easier time reaching an audience. If youd like, Ill also publish your documents in a special Hovernotes collection Ive started on Scribd.com. This will allow readers to view your document on the web as well as download it in formats which are optimized for the screen, paper, and ebooks. Or, Ill help you set up your own account on Scribd and show you how you can import your documents straight out of Google Docs. Im also building a community of Hovernote authors who I hope will be able to work with me on producing several Hovernotes. Please contact me at morga2ja@gmail.com to find out more.
