The continuing story of how God is transforming lives at the University of Michigan. Psalm 90:17

Spring has sprung in our hearts

Its been another few whirlwind months and we are catching our breath again. Personally we are both feeling encouraged and refreshed and all suitcases are currently unpacked which has become a rare thing! We just reached an incredible goal in our fundraising- 75%- we hope this means life away from home is coming to a close in the next few months. Its amazing to think of all that God has done to this point and the condence we can have, knowing He can do the last 25% too. We were recently at a staff conference about the importance of teams in building Gods Kingdom. As we reected a bit about it, our hearts couldnt help but be full of gratitude for all of the people who have joined our team with GCM to reach students here at the University of Michigan. We have 113 givers who support us nancially in an ongoing way and many others who pray consistently. Thanks for your willingness to help grow our dream (that we know is on Gods heart) of transforming lives at the University of Michigan.

@ New Life Church

Its the end of another school year and Gods kingdom continues to grow at the University of Michigan! In March we had 164 undergrads go on our 7 NLC-run spring break trips. Here are a few nuggets of things students said they learned on trips this year; Im learning about Gods beauty through nature and how He values me, Ive come to understand grace in a deeper and

more powerful way, and another student said, Im realizing its not a sin to be needy. Several students also made rst time commitments to follow Christ. There are many other stories of God transforming lives over this Spring Break week! Overall, all of the areas of ministry have grown this year including spring break trips, LT applicants, small group attendance and Sunday morning attendance. With this overall growth of about 35%, we have a greater need than ever for more student leaders and workers to help fulll the Great Commission. If you would like to help us reach our dream of changed lives at the University of Michigan and reach our support goal of 100%, please visit www.mygcm.org to give.

Jubilee (A time of Great Celebration!)

Normally we reserve this portion of our prayer letter for a students testimony, but we thought we would share about an awesome event that happened at New Life Church about 6 weeks ago. As most of you know, we meet in an old sorority house that New Life purchased and converted into a church.Thiswas a huge project that cost almost 4 million dollars from beginning to end. On March 9 after 6 years, the mortgage was completely paid off! In anticipation of this event, the leadership of the church wanted to have a Jubilee celebration modeled after Leviticus 25.For 3 straight nights, we packed the auditorium and worshipped, heard the story of the ups and downs of the building project, and reflected on how faithful our God is. It was an amazing 3 nights. The story of God completing the building project was cause for celebration as it was an incredible spiritual battle. The church fought against city officials (and unseen powers and principalities) to have a church that was near campus to allow students to walk. God won the battle

and He used people from outside the church to give and see it built. On the last night, our lead pastor, Steve Hayes, finished telling the story of the building. In his conclusion he reminded us all that it was never about bricks and mortar, but it was always about seeing transformed lives of students. At the conclusion of the story there was a time of worship that was so authentic and real.It was awesome to look across the auditorium and see hundreds of students passionately seeking after God in worship. A holy roar of worship and thankfulness was coming from students hearts, and it was an incredible thing to be a part of! The next day, many of the staff shared having the feeling that this is only the beginning! There is a sense of wonder at what God is doing here at the University of Michigan and in the city of Ann Arbor. We are excited for the future of this campus and to see the next generation come to know Him in a passionate way!!
