The following are the guide questions for the reflection on The Three Idiots. Read: GUIDE. Which means that, they are NOT meant to be answered ONE BY ONE. Rather, they are to be merely your guide in developing your paper. You are free to put into your paper ideas which might not have been reflected on the questions but which you believe are essential to your paper. TAKE NOTE: this is not a free for all paper. Meaning, you do not simply write down what you wish to write! This paper will have a criteria for grading. As such it will require you to be objective and organized in your thoughts. This is not to be seen as an opportunity to for teacher-bashing, or criticizing parents, other adults or even fellow classmates or friends! I will look for sociological concepts already discussed in the first two lessons and grade you according to how well you weave such concepts with your own thoughts on societal influences to individual behavior, most especially YOURS. It is my hope that you have enjoyed the movie, seen yourself in one of the characters, or maybe bits of your self are reflected in all characters. But more than anything, I hope you will have realized that no matter how strong the forces around you, it is even more important to be stronger than them. Go back to sociological imagination. And as you write, keep this in mind: Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: A desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. Muhammad Ali 1. What do you want to be? Are you accomplishing this on your own or is someone forcing you to do this? 2. Who among the characters do you identify the most? Or do you find bits of yourself in all of them? Why? 3. What particular scenes or lines in the story struck you the most? Why? 4. Do you agree: Life is a race. If you dont run fast, youll get trampled. And, That is nature: compete or die. Explain.

5. Have you ever challenged conventions? What did you do? How did the people around you react? What happened to you when you did it? Why did you even do it? 6. Do you know any person in your life who is like any of the characters? How do you know the person? How is your relationship with him/her? How has this influenced or developed your own self? 7. How did you find the teachers? The students? Joy Labos suicide, and even that attempted one of Raju? 8. Was Rancho right in blaming Virus for his students decisions to commit suicide? Elaborate your point. Further, was it right for him to teach teachers how to teach? What does this say about his ideas on education? Does this reflect your own? 9. What should Virus have done with Joy Labo? Raju? Was Rancho right in accusing him of leaving his weak students? Weigh your answers carefully. Sociological imagination teaches you to learn how to think from the others point of view, too. 10.To what extent are you like robots blindly following our own professors commands? 11.What did the film teach you about your OWN weaknesses and how you cope with everyday pressures in your life? What strengths do you have? Do you find ways to develop these strengths? 12.What Three important values in the film reflect our own Filipino values? 13.What is wrong (or right) with all izz well? Do you see yourself like Rancho all izz well? Or Raju offering promises to God in exchange for fulfilling a wish? Or Fahran afraid to pursue his own passion for fear of hurting loved ones? 14.Did you learn the same thing the two lead characters did about human behavior: when a friend fails you feel bad; when a friend tops, you feel worse.? 15.Are you in college just for a degree? What are your talents? Are you making use of this in college and in preparation for your future profession?

I don't know anything about luck. I've never banked on it, and I'm afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: hard work and realizing what IS opportunity and what isn't.
