Life Support Ministry Groups
Conquering Codependency
Time: Wednesdays 6:30pm—8:00pm (begins Sept 3)
Place: SC 203, $15
As many as 180 million Americans suffer from the painful
effects of codependency. Many of these are in churches try-
ing to do the “right” thing. Many times a person develops this
condition of codependency because of circumstances that
occurred during childhood. Other times codependency occurs because
of responses to circumstances that occur later in life. Some people find
themselves in relationships that are unhealthy or even abusive.
Codependents try to please, rescue, and serve others, but the more
diligently they try, the less peace of mind, intimacy and joy they receive
for their efforts. The purpose of this study is to begin to work this Christ-
centered 12 step process concerning codependency. This is not a ther-
apy group nor will it be led by professional counselors. Our discussion
facilitators are trained lay people. Class size is limited so enroll early.
Email gcall@arrowheights.org or call the Life Support office at 455-5020
X 210. Cost $15 for workbook.

Search for Significance

Time: Wednesdays 6:30pm—8:00pm (begins Sept 3)
Place: Meets in SC 204, $15, 8 week course
This book started a quiet revolution and has become a
modern classic and staple among Christian studies. This
8-week class looks at a false worldview that says,
“My performance + Other’s opinion = My self worth/value”
God’s Word says quite the opposite. Come to this class and
see for yourself through topics such as:
— The Origin of the Search
— The Performance Trap
— The Approval Addict
— The Blame Game and Shame
See what the Bible says about redemption, justification, reconcilia-
tion, propitiation, and regeneration. These new words will lead you to see
yourself from God’s perspective, not the world’s perspective. Your life
will never be the same again! This is led by lay people trained in discus-
sion facilitation. Contact Rhonda Scocos for more information at rhon-
da@arrowheights.org or (918) 455-5020. Cost $15 for workbook.

Believing God: Experiencing a Fresh Explosion of Faith
Monday Mornings 9:30-11:30
Place: SC 101
Begins September 8, 2008, $16.00
Led by Jennifer Johnson
Believing God: Experiencing a Fresh Explo-
sion of Faith by Beth Moore is based on Isaiah
43:10 and explores what it means to not only
believe in God but to believe Him. This is an
11-week study.
Do you take God at His Word, believing
what He has told you, or do you just believe
in His existence and the salvation He offers? Beth
Moore came face-to-face with this question well into adulthood. At first,
her response to God was, “Lord, of course I believe in You. I’ve believed
in You all my life.” Over time, the Holy Spirit led her to understand He
was saying, “I didn’t ask you to believe in Me. I asked you to believe Me.”
The Member Book includes personal interactive study five days a
week plus viewer guides for the group video sessions. Through studying
the lives of Abraham, Moses, and others from Hebrews 11 as examples
of persons who believed God, Beth encourages women to deepen their
own trust in God and receive a fresh word from Him.
