It had been some time since mutant births ceased. The fledgling species faced extinction.

Then the so-called Mutant Messiah Hope Summers returned. And slowly mutants started to appear. But they are different. They are out of control, their power running haywire until Hope manages to touch them. Its a touch that brings the individual peace and the mutant species a future. Each time a mutant emerges, its a race. Hope and her team of new mutants versus the genetic time bomb of each new mutants gifts. A delay can destroy them, can destroy everyone around them. There have been six new mutants six lights since Hopes return. They await the seventh.
