SUPPLEMENTARY IPCA EXPO 2011- AN INTERNATIONAL TRADE SHOW ON PRINTED CIRCUIT INDUSTRY, EMS, ALLIED EQUIPMENT, PRODUCTS, SERVICES

& BUSINESS Looking at the results of the PCB Industry for the year 2010-2011, which closed with an impressive growth of 17%, I am happy that our Association, the one of its only kind serving the PCB and allied industries in our country, holding an International Expo for the prospects of our industry is at the opportune moment, bringing together into our fold all allied industries dedicated to serve the interests of PCB, show-casing the latest technology, trends and manufacturing of advanced military, Industrial, Consumer, Solar and lighting applications, EMS companies, equipment manufacturers, products manufacturers etc to display their innovative products in our Expo. Many units in India have grown in volumes and the corresponding turnover, AT & S leading at no. 1 position with a turnover in excess of 200 Cr, being the largest exporter from India. However the growth of our own home-grown companies is also astonishing. Three companies have registered turnover little short of 100 Cr each. They deserve our special Congratulations! They are Messers. Ascent Circuits, Shogini Techno Arts and Epitome Components! We can now say that the PCB Industry in India has come of age, entering into the threshold of a new era of prosperity. Indian companies now are not only competing in the technology offered, but are also very competitive in prices too. We are now seeing the benefits of the volumes. The trend is quite encouraging and may be, this will provide inspiration to the companies waiting in the wings with great ambitions. This is the time to expand, expand and expand! It does not matter even if we are building our capacities with second hand equipments, but some how, we must attempt to be a part of this volume game so as to reap the benefits in the years to come. Good news is the demand at the same time has grown by 20%, widening the demand-supply gap further. Our industry must take advantage of the current situation and benefit itself by expanding into more volumes. Of course there are concerns about rising input costs, but this is world-wide phenomenon and not particular to India alone. As has been predicted in past, the gap in prices of Chinese PCBs and that produced here is almost vanished. The small and tiny sectors need special attention in our country, as this sector contributes to more than 60% of total production in India. The recent initiatives of IPCA to reach out to this sector especially with all activities that are on the anvil, such as conducting International Expos, Seminars, Training programmes etc. will certainly help our companies to aspire for growth and take larger share of our Industry.

IPCA Expo 2011 creates the perfect opportunity for PCB industry, OEMs, EMS companies and the suppliers of chemicals and allied products and the Equipments from all over the world to meet in one venue for business development and networking.
